Music City Bowl

Does anyone think we have a shot at getting in the Music City Bowl. We are very attractive for the City we bring more fans than KY will.

The executive director of the Music City Bowl has been pretty clear that they are not likely to take a 6-6 team. It could happen, but I would be very surprised.

Beale Street cloes at 1am...or at least it did when I was there a few years back. :eek2:

Shreveport has casinos which close at...well...never.

Yeah Shreveport is awesome if you're into gambling, but other than the casinos and sitting at an IHOP at 2 in the morning after a trip to the Hustler, there is nothing to do. I would much rather go to Memphis and eat some bbq and go to a Grizzlies game.

I still have flashbacks of the 98 Music City Bowl ... wait we have never won there have we? 98 and 04 were both loses I believe. Not that it has anything to do with anything... just curious now.

The 1998 MCB was the most miserable experience I've ever had at a bama game. Come to think of it the '04 edition was pretty aweful too.

I hope it's the Liberty what with the 25th anniversary of CPB's final game and all. :BigA:

The main thing is getting an invite somewhere if only for the much needed additional practice time.

It's cold in Nashville. There is nothing to do there except go to Opryland Hotel and "ooh and ahh" at the lights, go listen to country music and get drunk. Not my idea of a bowl trip.

Wow...that's just not an accurate comment, save maybe the cold part. If we happen to go to the Music City Bowl, talk to me...I'll show you to the right places.

Liberty, Music City, then Indy according to this:

That is not what it says. It says that the Liberty and Music City are listed in alphabetical order and pick in consultation with the SEC office. Based on comments from the bowl officials, the Music City Bowl has the "advantage" over the Liberty in the selection, though the SEC office can always twist arms.

The last time I was on Beale Street (last year), everything was still going strong at 4:00 a.m. when I left. When did it start shutting down at 1:00 a.m.?

Nashville is my hometown, so I'd be happy to go there too and I know some better places than Opryland and country music bars. There's lots more to do there than that. (the getting drunk part you can do anywhere of course!).

Right now, I'm hoping for the Liberty Bowl rather than the Indy. I don't have any use for the casinos (and there are plenty close enough to Memphis if that's your thing). Memphis is always a fun place to go.

That is not what it says either. What it says to me is that they pick together and if they choose different teams that is the way it comes down. If they choose the same team, then that team has the choice.
