My take on the Texas matchup after viewing their film~!~(SMACK WARNING!)

And these guys will be just like the other 13,,, we will never hear from them again. Unless of course there is a close call that goes our way,,, then we may need to ask Superman to loan them some Kleenex.

After watching the texas games again last night let me say this to the texas fans on here:

1. If we can get to McCoy (not sacks but just pressure in general) We win.

2. If we double shipley and shut him down. We win.

3. If we can run on your touted #1 rush defense. We win.

All that being said I just do not understand why visiting teams come here and expect us to just fall all over your team with praise. Man this is the SEC we are talking about, so #1 you better KNOW your football and #2 this is Alabama~!~
I am quite sure you texas guys are taking this stuff and going back and posting it on your site to try and get some kind of motivation but the sad truth is if you feel the need to come here and find some fire for your team you already lost~!~

Seriously, if you have watched any of our games you would know we have the A+ in the heart category. This isn't Nebraska buddy. You must be wearin' some pretty thick burnt orange glasses or your a closet TCU fan. If you like stats, that would be the team to look up.

Since you're big on numbering things...#1 What has Bama done in the last 17 years on a National basis? Nada. Why do you feel UT fans should bow down to Bama and think you're the "end all, be all"? We're Texas!

#2 Texas is the team that has recent National Championship...undefeated seasons..., etc, not Bama. Sure, you've done it this year but what about the big games in the past 17 years or even last year? Texas fans have reason to feel that we have just as good (or better) a team than Bama.

#3. Nebraska kept (and put) pressure on McCoy. Texas still won the game!
#4. OU doubled Shipley the entire game and controlled him. Texas still won the game!
#5.If you run on our defense, you might win the game. I give you that much, but that's why they play the game.

I think the point you are trying to make is what have we done lately. Today is pretty **** current. Number 1 in the Nation, SEC CHAMPS as of today with a Heisman Trophy to boot my friend. Most believe that the National Championship has already been played (SEC Champ), but we will go through the motions. We are ALABAMA, do you think Texas honestly compairs to our tradition. Saban woke up the giant, that's what he has done. The giant doesn't worry about the second best team in Texas. Ya don't have to bow now, but its coming.

We aren't Nebraska buddy. You won't be setting up a game winning field goal with 0 yes I said 0 seconds left on the clock. You are lucky and can't even see it. Nebraskas O could't put up 7 pts on a good Pop Warner team, they did on Texas. We have 11 good defensive players, not just a couple.

Yea you know I was trying to be respectful in my thread and thought I was giving a pretty good image of what texas is and does in their games. Now I am used to getting shelled by BAMA fans for my "must fix thread" but from a horn fan????? Come on if you want the gloves off then fine I will put it plain and simple and you can take this back to YOUR site for some fire since you seem to be the team needing something to take down the Goliath.

Plain and simple:

1. As stated above you are not even the best team in Texas.
2. You really want to know how many BAMA fans were glad you beat Nebraska by a last second field goal??? See #1 and ask...
3. Your run #1 defense ranking is a joke, its like saying Amtrak has a perfect flying record.
4. You have been in the top 5 of recruiting longer than memory serves and still have only 1 NC in your 17 year window......... No wonder Ou fans still think Mack Brown is their favorite coach.

Just to name a few of my feelings and not getting into too much trouble. But I did not want this thread to get locked or turn into a smack thread and yet when our rivals come here looking for some praise and fail to get it you want to turn it into a history or what have you done for me latley thread.... I think this post completely contradicts the whole “media isn’t giving Texas their proper respect” talk that a lot of Texas fans have been screaming. After reading all the Texas’s fans post on this board I find it very ironic that you call into question any bravado we as fans have towards our team. All I have been reading is how there is no way Bama can block your D-line after all there are some former RB’s there, If we blitz Colt he will tear us apart, Bama will never see a defensive scheme the likes Texas will bring in the game, we have like 13 players (sarcasm) that will run in London, To me when you (not you but your fan base) says things like “Texas got no respect in 2005 and we all know how that turned out” it sounds really stupid when you come on here and say you’re the USC in this equation. Yes Bama has struggled in the past 17 years, yeas Texas has had a really good run the past 10 or so but our QB has the same amount of conference championships as your all world guy, and to respond to your Points

#2 So if you guys are soooooo good, then why was this Colts first Big 12 title game? And please don’t give me that miracle grab/We beat OU head to head crap. There was a 3 way tie, you take car of business then there is nothing to cry about

To me a Texas fan coming on here and calling out our” bravado” is kind of insulting, I admit I used to love Texas, I loved their tradition, the connections between Royal and Bryant with the wishbone but leading up to this game all I can say is their fan base to me is just like Florida’s, they are arrogant and extremely hard to talk “football” with. They want to talk about trends, stats, 40 times, and conference strength then its all in their favor but the minute you bring up something that doesn’t work then, its disrespect, “false bravado”, we still won the game” and so on and so on.
And do you honestly think any player on Bama’s team is the least bit concerned with the fact Bama has never beaten Texas? How many of those games will be in the film room when Bama is getting ready to play the 2009 Longhorns? To me this last statement makes a lot more sense of why every OU fan I know hates your fan base so much. And I and everyone I know could care less how much the SEC/Bama impresses you or you fan base, we will see how it all turns out

Watched The Express last night. Great movie, especially the last game depicted. Kinda made me think about what is coming Texas' way in a few weeks. Another year in which their prized QB gets beat out of a Heisman by a RB from the team that will beat them in the NC game... :biggrin2:
