Did anyone realize Najee scored 20 TDs this year?

3rd round grade is a slap to the face but he didn't really heat up until November. I think he's a sleeper pick of the NFL draft with that kinda grade...IF he goes.

This is right. It doesn't mean Swift is better. It just means that Swift is more what the NFL covets right now with the way the game has changed. This is a pretty good running back class too. Swift, Dobbins, Etienne, Taylor... I'm sure there are some lesser known guys that I'm missing.

EDIT: Fully expect Najee to go by the way. Just pointing out some probable reasons why Najee's grade was low.

I hate to say it though. I'm picked Dobbins and ETN without a second thought if they're available and I want a tailback. Those two dudes are electric...not even a slight to Najee. Swift I think is about an equivalent prospect. Gotta understand he had no passing game to help him. None. Taylor may end up being a good back for a team but the amount of snaps he's played is a huge concern. He's durable to date, yes, but dude may be a ticking time bomb on breaking down before the first contract ends.

Najee is the 3rd or 4th best back in this class and backs are not valued that highly. 3rd round grade is probably about on point in vacuum but still a slap to the face. He's closer to the upper crust (Dobbins and ETN) than people realize.

Titans fan here. You're right. Leave it up to our front office to screw this negotiation up. But, he and the HC (Vrabel)don't get along very well. The tension is obvious. So, I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't re-sign with them.

It also depends on what teams' biggest need are when he comes out. I don't keep up with the NFL quite as much as college. But one would have to look around the league and see how many teams are in a situation where they need a RB more than they do a position or positions that normally are in higher demand. That also plays a factor. It's not just Najee's talent level that impacts his draft position. If he stays, it maybe next season there are more teams in the market for an upgrade at RB.

I love Kenyan Drake - a speedster for sure. But who would you rather try to tackle in the open field - Drake or King Henry? Same difference oxymoronically speaking.

There's one massive difference between Harris and Henry - Henry has legendary breakaway speed. Especially for his size. Henry's had so many long TD runs in college and the NFL including a 99 yard TD run against the Jaguars. Read something not long ago that Harris longest run was like 27 yards. Henry ran a laser time 4.54 at 247 lbs and is routinely one of the fastest players clocked each week in the NFL when they measure the top speed of players by MPH. If I had to guess, Harris would probably run 4.65-4.70 at the combine..

Henry was doing that in HS, too. He must be able to maintain that top speed a lot longer than most.
 
Nagee gives you 100% -- but in my book he's just not fast enough to be a big time, NFL running back. DH is far faster...not even close.
Nagee's decision is tougher...the tread on the tires does wear out, whether you are in the NFL or the NCAA. But he could be like D Harris and wind up on the practice squad for most of the year.

I would almost bet you NH doesn't break 4.7...what did Damien Harris run?

Lacy and Harris have similar games and I think Eddie has done pretty well for himself. Practice squad is not a bad option if it ends up like it did for Scarbrough. Really surprised Damien Harris has not gotten into some games this year.

For the difference between 2nd and 3rd round money, the risk management decision is to take third round today, rather than hoping for 2nd round after another year of wear and tear and exposure to major injury.

Don’t know if it’s possible with a rookie contract, but maybe he can negotiate performance incentives to possibly raise the potential ceiling on his goal compensation.

If he did come back he would not get as many touches in the backfield with Trey on campus and a couple of more studs on their way. But he could benefit by being in that "change up" role as the bruiser complementing the speedsters and also be featured in the passing game as a mismatch in the slot. There is nothing like trying to tackle a receiver the size of a middle linebacker.
