**OFFICIAL** Bama vs LSU Post Game Thread

Lesters day is coming soon..

LSU's lack of disipline and way too many penalties will get them soon..we had less talent and could have won the game. When all of Sabans players run out on him, I can't wait! They did what they had to do to win and props to them, but I like our coach and where we are heading.

JPW just blew it at the end....he needs to learn to pull the ball in when he looks as if he is going to be sacked.

That said, we played better on Defense than I thought we would, I am afraid the suspensions hurt us more in this game than the ones incurred by LSWho.

On to MSU......beat them and the barners and it will still be a good year.

anyone know how many more games those guys will be suspended? we needed a complete line tonight and coffee to change it up, although lowe did well

Re: I'm proud of the job the players and coaches did

Who here thought at the beginning of the season that we would still be in the race for the SEC Championship at this point? Who thought that we would play the #3 team in the nation right down to the wire? I know I figured that we would get destroyed by LSU this year.

We didn't play our best game. We were seriously overmatched in terms of talent. LSU has 17 senior starters. And yet we almost won the game.

I doubt that it even needs to be said that our coach built the team we played against tonight. If you switched coaching staffs between Alabama and LSU I don't think the score would have been anywhere near so close. So, while I'm upset that we lost and aren't in the hunt for the SEC anymore, I'm very optimistic about the future. In a couple of years we will be the big bullies going into other stadiums and doling out the punishment.

LSU, on the other hand, might want to be nervous about next year. They lose 17 of 22 starters (at least), and there's a good chance Pelini is gone to Nebraska. Miles might even be gone to Michigan.

However, that's all down the road. They beat us fair and square tonight. Good game, Tigers.

Re: good game tide fans

We gave it our all and gave you a run for your money. You have a lot of talent there and it was just too much for us to overcome. Good luck to you, at least til this time next year.
Roll Tide

As expected, the more talented team won. The *better coached* team hung in there til the end though.

Our future is very bright and I hope some of the visiting recruits see it that way as well.

Too bad the ol' unpredictable JPW showed up today instead of the calmer, wiser one.

Can't complain, although the loss really hurts. We gave great effort against a clearly physically-dominant team, got some breaks and made some of our own. I wish the replay officials had given us a few more!

Gotta congratulate the players, the staff and the fans.

Re: I'm proud of the job the players and coaches did

We played great with what we had, the Book Gate thing may or may not have hurt us, but we do not have the players that NICK brought to LSwho. Nick beat Nick tonight no doubt.

If it weren't for JPW's heart, toughness and determination we never would have gotten as far as we did. Be mindful of what you say please. That's the best defense we've seen.

Hey, I am not dissing JPW, I just wished he would learn to pull the ball in, on the other side of the coin he got very little protection against the number 2 defense in the second half.

Re: I'm proud of the job the players and coaches did

Firstly, I don't believe in "moral victories", you play to win and a loss is a loss. However, there are instances in which you go out there and fight and struggle and don't manage to prevail. These are the instances in which you need to learn from your mistakes and strive to do better.

All of us knew that LSU was going to put more talent on the field. 17 of the guys starting were recruited by Saban and we know how good a recruiter he is. So, one could hardly say that the talent level on the field was equal.

After the suspensions, I felt like Alabama's running game was going to be almost non-existent. You can't lose two blockers and your power runner against a team like LSU and expect things to go well (then again I thought it would really hurt Alabama against UT, but UT ain't LSU).

Alabama looked overwhelmed at many times during the game. The running game struggled, the defense was vulnerable, the one dimensional offense was inept sometimes but the team kept fighting and the coaches kept trying to find ways of keeping Alabama in the game. There were good breaks and bad breaks with some questionable officiating with good measure. The end result was a good, hard fought game.

I don't really want to hear any complaining or finger pointing directed towards the team. Could Alabama have done some things better? Sure, they could have. However they stayed in the game and fought against one of the most talented teams in football. I am proud of the effort and I'm proud of the direction this team is headed.

I'm not happy right now but I have pride in Alabama's football team.

Krazy... this is not just towards you, but also to everyone. We are not going to tolerate posters telling other posters what they should or should not post! If it happens, people will quickly get tossed. Comprende?

I hate LSU. I love our guys, though. They've played their hearts out.

Agreed and agreed. I feel absolutely sick... but one thing was evident on the field today:

LSU may have more talent, but their coaching staff instills very little discipline into their men - a stark contrast with our coaching staff.

I am extremely proud of our players AND our coaches. From what I saw, they conducted themselves as prime representatives of the University.

DISCIPLINE WILL PREVAIL!!!

Great game, Tide!!! Couldn't deliver the knockout haymaker to LSU when we had a couple of chances to. A good team will take advantage. Defense played great. Offense didn't have the kind of game that I thought we'd need, but they made a lot of great big plays. Lack of a running game hurt in the 4th quarter. On to the next one...........
