I agree, but it’s literally the entire basis of why NIL exists. People bought into the lie that the players were oppressed for decades. As with most things, there is no middle ground or incremental changes. It just goes from one extreme pendulum swing to the other.

I believe a big part of a dominant running game is just attitude. You talk about oline play and the running backs during Bryce's time at Alabama and I agree with you in terms of the result. I belabored what Oklahoma did for a reason though. They were 105th in rushing coming into the game. The running back that just ran all over Alabama had 85 career yards and was a 3 star recruit. I don't think they had an exceptional offensive-line or an exceptional running backs. What they did have though was an attitude and a dedication to stuffing the ball down Alabama's throat.

Again, not saying this is the ideal offense but it should be the first building block in my opinion. If you're not trying to be mean and nasty you might be missing out on some crucial aspects important to success. As good as Bryce was, it still wasn't good enough for a championship.

We both agree that it's an issue we don't have a dominant running game that uses, you know, actual running backs. I just don't understand why the coaches, the play callers, the people that are supposed to be in charge haven't done that.

They had two weeks to install a blocking scheme that Womack obviously struggled with. There’s also the knocking off the giant aspect for Oklahoma.

This Alabama team struggles with the idea that every team is going to give a Herculean effort to beat them.

Uou combine that with a coaching staff that has never faced that same intensity and you get losses to Vanderbilt and Oklahoma.

Yes, but they also had 5100 yards passing which opened up the run. I don’t see first year starter Simpson throwing for that kind of yardage . His philosophy is not balanced, it is a throw heavy attack.

Yes, Milroe is the lightning rod, but it was a total organizational failure. I'm glad I stopped watching in the second quarter because total failure is easy to recognize. Oh well, maybe it will be better this week. Roll Tide!

They were 102 in rushing though, very QB-centric. 343 passing yards a game, 118 rushing. They also had trouble putting teams away.

I do believe they inherited some bad habits. When you are used to a guy like Penix, it might be second nature to put the game into his hands but that didn't always go so great for them either. In 2022 they lost to 3-9 Arizona St. In that game Penix threw 53 times for 0 TDs and 1 INT. Arizona St. had the 113th ranked scoring offense.

I think there is an aspect to this staff that inherently wants to lean on the quarterback even if they have all the pieces to win other ways. I think we can all agree leaning too much on Milroe was a bad idea.

I am perplexed by a coach who doesn't possess the will or foresight to prepare a backup QB. I completely disagree with the if - then statements on here that say that Ty Simpson hasn't played so therefore he is not a capable QB and that the team will require a QB from the portal.

From my perspective it is a very bad (unethical) practice to recruit players who have a demonstrated a commitment to the program and not return that commitment as a program.

I do believe that DeBoer is not prepared as a coach in the SEC any more than Brian Kelly is. It is likely too soon to say more than that but one fact is clear he is no CNS by a long shot.

Next year will be the year we find out if CKD is the right guy. The locker room dynamic this year isn’t completely on him. Although he should have put his foot down after Tennessee.
