Bama Game Thread: Official PostGame Thread - Bama @ OU

The crow being served on Twitter is gold.

Notre Dame and FSU fans have been howling for weeks.

Notre Dame, you see, would have steamrolled both of these teams tonight.

Indiana is now going to bomb Alabama back to the Stone Age is the hot take. It's so hot one guy - an IU grad - has immediately begun complaining that Alabama should have to go play at Indiana's home campus on January 1, the old "afraid to play up north in winter" argument.

Indiana has been wanting to go to the Rose Bowl since before LBJ withdrew from the 1968 race, and their fans are STILL whining.

That's actually quite mild compared to most other critics.

And at least what he said was defensible AT THE TIME. But most of the hot takes were "doesn't deserve to be here, we knew this was coming."

Btw - it's so hilarious to watch the very same people saying that us falling behind 17-0 "proves they don't belong here" but winning doesn't matter.

It is NOT OUR FAULT that CFB has a 12-team playoff.

There are never 12 teams "deserving" of a shot at the national championship, either. Seriously, you get beyond 3 or at the absolute most 4 and it's a wash.

I agree with @crimsonaudio 's comment last night during game. While there ARE some classy OU fans (wishbone sooner is an outstanding example), the fact is that most Oklahoma fans are Michigan fans with more missing teeth. For years they'd dismiss our national championship count by removing the 1973 title (it was still legit, folks) to place themselves above us.

I respect what Oklahoma has accomplished as a program over the course of a century plus, yes, but I don't respect that their fans are barely more evolved than Auburn fans whose parents punished them by not letting them go to the weekend Tractor Pull.

I know nothing about football, apparently.

In a couple of threads, I mentioned we know how this game was going to go after the first couple of series and that unless we started fast, we were in trouble.

I was certainly wrong about that.

But where I was a tad smarter(AND it's why I don't typically post during games especially when I'm upset), is I didn't post some of the really negative things I was thinking last night in the first quarter and a half!

The comeback by Bama was amazing to behold, but shutting up the talking heads and opposing fans who were dancing on Bama's grave early in the game was magnificent. To paraphrase Mark Twain, rumors of Bama's demise were greatly exaggerated.
