Bama Game Thread: Official Postgame Thread - Bama @ Vandy...

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

Lot's of things going on here....
New systems on both sides of the ball without the right players to run them.

So much super-star hype. Way too much talk about individual awards.

Not sure about the defense but something is very much amiss there.

Offense is super talented but doesn't control the clock. Defense is probably still tired from the last game. Will probably be the case until we get someone that can run thr CKD offense as designed.

We play a lot more players than CNS did and many of those are very young. It'll pay off in time but in the short run mistakes will be made.

When was the last time our QB2 took a snap?

Feast or famine with the guys we have. When they're on the sky is the limit.

I'd say we missed Caleb Downs today.
Caleb Downs wasn’t missed today. He chose not to play at Alabama. I couldn’t care less if he continues his quitting ways. At least he’s gone.

Welp, embarrassing then. Not the first time. Won't be the last but we still have a good team. Need to work on the between the ears part to close out the season strongly.

I've been closely following the team since the mid-80's. i've experienced some losses I didn't like, but this is far and away the only one that's embarrassing. it's Vandy, and we made them look like ATM or clemson in their best years.

We have the athletes that this shouldn't happen. There were years when that was not the case, and even when we lost, it was obvious the players did all they could and were as prepped as they could be.

This is 100% on the staff. We have the athletes that something like this shouldn't happen.

But if we didnt overreact, then he wouldn't understand why we are Bama.

I'm not happy about our loss...not defending anything we did wrong and there was plenty.

But I think it's immature of our fan base to start talking about CKD as it he's suddenly not a good coach OR that we aren't very lucky to have him.

When an opponent took the lead on us under Coach Saban, we saw what would happen on the sideline, holding our player's & coaches accountable in front of a national TV audience chewing them out..

That's is what we're lacking under Coach Deboer
Usually, when Alabama was in a close game, was when Saban was the coolest.

A pathetic effort. And makes no mistake, effort was the difference.
Wommack needs to quit flapping his gums talking about creating pressure and turnovers, and trying to convince everyone how “darn smart he is”. Spend some time on getting your players off the field on third and fourth down.

As an Alabama fan since 1967, this game from a defensive standpoint was absolutely an embarrassment.,

Vandy lost to Ga State. To suggest they have not had this game circled for weeks is lunacy.
fine believe whatever you want. when the beat Virginia Tech were they practicing for Bama? When they took Mizzu yo the wire were the practicing for Bama then too? You do realize they had 2 weeks to prepare for this game?

In my continued effort to to type instead of drink, I would make another observation.

Ultimately this loss probably serves the best interest of Alabama football. If they win this game, the problems are still the same, the people involved as just not nearly as humiliated and are less likely to be held accountable.

This unequivocally demonstrates some very serious problems that absolutely have to be addressed in order for Alabama to come close to sustaining what Saban built. Alabama escapes and the problems are there but with less emphasis on them.

I'm only 42, but would y'all consider this loss worse than the loss to Memphis St. In 1987 or the NIU loss in 2003?
I'm too young to remember the '87 season, but I vividly remember 2003. NIU was actually a decent team that year and we were nowhere near as talented as we are currently.

Some will say that the Louisiana-Monroe loss was worse than today's, but I disagree. Shula had run the program into the ground, and what little talent we had wasn't fully bought-in to Saban's Process.

What we witnessed today is absolutely inexcusable. It's the kind of loss that hurts recruiting and can snowball to set a program back years unless things DRASTICALLY change, and fast.

I agree. This is not life changing like the Vandy QB said after the game. It is an embarrassing loss that can be used to either propel us forward or eat us from within.
