If I’m Saban I’m keeping my mouth shut about the officiating. Last time he complained about a missed call they hit us with that flag the rest of the year it felt like.
Yeah Saban once made a comment about a lineman downfield. Actually someone asked a question and he answered it. The very next week we were called for it and replay showed he wasn't even close to be downfield. That was a clear warning to not call them out.

You called a player an idiot or selfish.

It is what it is.
His play, but I did not separate it from him personally. Would it make you feel better if I told you that I don't know this player, and that he might really be a genius for all I know?

But he did play hero ball. Plain and simple. He knows it. You know it. We all know it. Tua played hero ball at Alabama - still does at Miami. It is a problem. It is a legitimate criticism.

Yes, and the statement will be are refs our infallible. How dare you question us!
Which is what absolutely infuriates me. Crew grades, blatant missed call, and errors should be reported to the conference office and made public. Millions of dollars are on the line in terms of titles and playoff births. In order for people to have faith in these crews, there has to be transparency.

But it won’t happen. And IndyBison will show up to tell us how officials are right 95% of the time, above reproach and outside influences.

When we snagged Golding, he was viewed as one of the bright young defensive minds coming up the ranks. I think something about him impressed Saban, and he thought he could take another young guy and mold him into a force, much like he did Kirby.

Now, why didn’t that work? I don’t know. Why do we continue to stand by PG year after year? I don’t get it either. I do think he’s gotten marginally better, but games like this still happen far too often. There’s no debating that Golding has been a disappointment. Maybe youthful arrogance, maybe it’s a scheme not built for the SEC, maybe a combination of a lot of things.

But I can guaran-fricken-tee you, the thought; “This guy will be so mediocre that I can keep him for a decade” never entered Saban’s mind.
Whether he thought that or not, that is what has happened. And maybe it was more of a "Nobody has heard of this Pete Golding guy that much, I can develop him within the system and he will be here for a while" approach.

Refs are like the Praetorian Guard……… they try to make or break coaches and teams. Someone needs to keep tabs on them then can them when they show incompetence

In any case, I am going to sleep now…….. y’all try and get along

Smart stayed for almost a decade. No reason to think that mediocrity would be required for him to stay given his age.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

I'm not playing this game where you try to pass it off as "effort play."

Your words:

"That kid cannot care about anyone but himself for even trying that crap."

You're out of line for saying that and you know it.

Bruh, if you think that’s bad, you should have heard what I said about him live in my living room when it happened… 😂

I said it and believe it. I would say it to one of my own boys if they did something that selfish.

If the SEC and college football are serious about concussions and player safety, they will suspend/fine/dicipline the crew of this game.
It's a proven fact Alabama is not going to get penalties called fairly, but those no-calls are inexcusable.

You wouldn't do that to your kids messing up when they're out there trying their damndest unless you're a particularly malicious parent.

Own it. You messed up.
Yes, I would, and my boys have turned into great young men, mostly because of their mother, but I don't think that I crippled them too much.
