I’ve reached a point where Saturdays are more agonizing than enjoyable. And I’m not sure who exactly I’m supposed to blame for that.

I've felt the same way. I've found the DVR helps a lot. If I'm super stressed about a game. I'll record it and do something else. If it goes bad I will still watch, but may wait a day or two. I just want to enjoy the game and if I can't I'll wait a little while.
