For all of those who say many of us can never be satisfied with the job our athletic department does, take a look at what a competant athletic department does:

http://www.lsutaf.org/westside_new/index_flash.htm

a: it took us two years to lose A&M's rendering and get our own

b: when we got that first rendering, it was a DRAWING

c: this addition to LSU's Tiger Stadium involves TEARING DOWN the old deck building the massive new deck, and it will be complete for NEXT FOOTBALL SEASON. Our expansion will take TWO years.

Whatever..

He's equating building sky boxes, plus the seat addition, plus the new facade, club level, to adding new seats. And that's the AD's fault, somehow. It's apples and oranges, but, if he turns out to be an architect or structural engineer, then it may be worth reading. However, credibility would be helped by learning to spell "competent." If you can't spell it, can you recognize it?

.....because spelling is always correct by everyone who posts on this board.... i forgot the precious spell-check...can you find it in your heart to forgive me?? Just this once???

First of all, LSU is not only adding "new seats", they are also adding "skyboxes, plus the seat addition, plus the new facade, club level"...and in ONE year, AFTER tearing down and entire old upper level...now THAT'S spending money and time wisely, Streyeder. AND they give their fan base computerized FLY THROUGH of the new facility. That is FIRST RATE. period. You can call it a worthless "pretty picture" all you want, but it's a pretty darn good 'wow' factor for other fan bases and RECRUITS alike.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we decided to make changes to our facilities, and I hope that our stadium expansion is awesome. Call me too image conscious, but I want Bama to look and act the part of the powerhouse we claim to be, and sometimes our AD just doesn't seem to care. By Mal Moore's own admission, the reason for all the upgrades was to CATCH UP with other institutions. Others should be trying to catch up to us, not vice versa.

If they can do all that and end up with a structure that's first-rate, more power to them. Personally, I'm not sure I'd feel safe and secure in a structure built that quickly. I have to wonder what corners are being cut in the interest of a speedy finish.

Who cares what lswho does? Bryant-Denny is 10 times the stadium than any in the conference. And once Bama is finished with all the upgrades Bama's facilites will be second to none, and every school in the nation will be wishing they had something half as nice (especially lswho). Who gives a rip about some idiotic special effects?

Gee, imagine that. LSU was able to do all that WITHOUT losing several million dollars of bowl revenue over the past few years. :rolleye2:

I believe this is the sort of thing our AD hired Johnnie Williams to be involved with, so it sounds like our AD is working on overall improvements in addition to structural improvements.

BTW, just curious, but how is the length of time for a particular construction project the fault of the AD. I know they solicit bids from more than one firm, and somehow I can't picture the AD saying "Let's pick this one because it will take the longest". Don't you think, just maybe, there were other factors involved than just the time frame?

Even if there's nothing to complain about Bama fans will find something.

Ah yes, the classic response when people disagree with an opinion and you don't have any real argument to convinve them except your opinion. "It's not me, it's you people."

I am awake (pretty obvious since I'm typing on a computer) and I see some positive things going on with the entire program. Too bad some people can't see the forest for the trees.

That's enough. Topic closed. In addition to the dubious premise of this post to begin with, there are too many personal attacks getting slung around. The mods will be watching closely.
