Penn State changing uniforms! Good idea or bad?

Just heard on outside the lines that Penn State is considering changing their uniforms. Could be as simple as adding names to jersey or as drastic as going all out like Oregan.

I think it might be a good idea to try to create a new image, but walking away from all your traditions might not be the way to go.

I apologize if this has been mentioned somewhere else on the boards it's new information to me!

Personally..I think they should completely change their Uni's..I love their traditional Uni's..But..The 1st thing anyone will think about when they see the traditional Uni's..Will be Sandusky & Paterno..I think it needs too be done so the Penn St Nation can move on to recover..JMO

But on the other hand, every time you see the new uniform, you may think, 'They traded in their traditional uniform after that Sandusky thing, what a shame'. So, it may not matter what they do, they're stuck with this situation for a while.

Changing uni's doesn't change who you are. It will smack of desperation - and rightly so.

I would say their uniforms are about the only decent thing that still remains at PSU. They should keep them and rebuild everything else. JMHO, of course.

You make a valid point..I see the argument for either point..Tough call to make..I'd still change Uni's though..That's just me though..

The talking heads are saying it will help with recruiting. I think it might help with out of state recruiting, but I'm sure kids in state have dreamed about wearing the traditional uniforms.

This may be a real dumb question(I'm not the brightest star in the sky sometimes..LOL)..Do the schools pay for their Uni's..I've always assumed Nike, UA, Addias, all supplied the Uni's to the schools..

Given that they need to distance themselves from the previous establishment as much as possible, I don't think it's a bad idea.

I doubt they'd go the "Oregon" route with it. It wouldn't take much to make the existing concept just a bit more modern.

Here's The Nike Pro Combat Uni Nike did or wanted to do with Penn St..Not sure if Penn St ever used them..Anyways..I kinda like it..It's no where near as crazy as some Nike did..What do ya'll think..

No, no, no! Apply this to us. I think it would be the final straw to many longtime fans, and I am talking bang. Too much change too fast can be dangerous to fans that are emotionally connected to the team, like many of us are to Alabama. It would kill me to see us running out the tunnel with a big A on the chest. I would feel like that this was punishment from all that love to kick someone while their down.

New uniforms is superficial crap that hurts much more than it helps anyone.
