if they all win their conference championship games then they all will have more quality wins than Bama. Our best win is who LSU or Miss State? It just says a lot when our 1st top 10 opponent is a loss. We dont have a game to make ourselves look like we belong going foward. We blew that chance today. We are going to need help
That's why you play the injury card. Alabama is one of the 4 best teams in the country.

If it comes down to a choice between us and a two loss Ohio State, I think we get in. Ohio State has been dismantled by Iowa this year, and they got in last year in a controversial situation and showed they didn’t belong. Now, an undefeated Wisconsin is a sure bet over us. So, for this one time, go Buckeyes!

Nice point..excellent.

It can't just be quality wins, it has to be losses to. That begs the question of how many quality wins is a loss worth anyway? It has to be at least 2 right? I think we both can agree that you have to have at least two more quality wins to "erase" a loss. But, I think you'd probably argue it is more than that, at least incrementally. Like say 2.5. So, you have a tie breaker of sorts but you can't just erase losses like they mean nothing. There are other criteria, like game control, a stat that Alabama has dominated most of the year, and injuries, and Alabama is clearly banged up.

So, it isn't a matter of picking one thing and saying this trumps all, it's a matter of what priorities the committee has. Alabama should be very near to getting in though, that much is clear.

I challenge anyone to tell me definitively who the two best teams are this year. Seriously, I have no idea.

I don't think it matters with Daboll calling plays.

I kept thinking MAYBE we were sandbagging and experimenting with different things on offense.

But no... he's really just as incompetent as I thought he was for months now.

I think the Wisconsin is the team most likely to lose and the committee would maybe put us at #4 instead of tOSU. They have a BAD....very BAD loss to Iowa where they got BLOWN OUT.

But Oklahoma will probably be #1. We don't want ANY of them with Daboll on the sideline. We would get MURDERED.

I have no desire to see us get boat raced by 30 points with Baker Mayfield antics on top of it with Daboll nose deep in his play chart calling 'Shotgun All Verticals' like the idiot he is.

It's honestly probably better for us to play in a lower profile bowl game at this point.

As of today Oklahoma and Auburn, that could change next weekend.

I don't know - I think that Clemson could beat either of them. And in 5 weeks to get healthy, I think that Alabama could beat anyone. It is very weird to have this many good but flawed teams.

If you take today we look terrible BUT.... we didn’t look as bad as any other team in the games they lost, either save perhaps Auburn.

Undue emphasis on today and we are done. If the threshold is one of the four best I think we are in.

That changes not just from week to week but quarter to quarter as wells
That's why I have always been strongly for judging the resume as a whole. It's the wrong thing to do to over-analyze too small a piece of data. That's one reason I liked the BCS, the computers just crunched the numbers. They spit out the results, but there was no real room for subjectivity or trying to figure out who looked better than whom. It was all what the numbers said. The polls were of course biased, but I'd argue no more so than the committee.

If the committee judges the entire body of work, everything, every game, every quarter, every one of their silly criteria, I have a hard time figuring out how they justify leaving out Alabama when things are all said and done.

We will need to be 5th or 6th and tOSU be no higher than 8th on Tuesday.

Then we need tOSU or TCU to win.

I really think we benefit from Auburn winning more than UGA. It may be a better buffer with tOSU

But I would say it’s a lot harder than 2011.

If I remember correctly, Penn State beat Ohio State and won the conference championship and still didn't get in. If the committee were consistent that means Bama gets in over Auburn.
