Post game thoughts (including coaching) thread. Let's not have 50 new ones...

Re: OK - Post game thoughts thread. Let's not have 50 new ones...

Well, now we'll know if Witt has the cajones to do what needs to be done...

Re: OK - Post game thoughts thread. Let's not have 50 new ones...

I love BAMA footbal too much to not be excited, but if Shula is still here, I won't be very optimistic.

Re: OK - Post game thoughts thread. Let's not have 50 new ones...

Right now, I am just plain tired. I am exhausted. I am going to pick up dinner, the wife got a movie. I am going to try my best to relax but I know I will be waking up in the middle of the night and not go back to sleep. I know my Thanksgiving it pretty much ruined. This one will take awhile. Hope Coach Shula has a good night sleep in his million dollar mansion.

Re: OK - Post game thoughts thread. Let's not have 50 new ones...

I said before the game that Coach Shula would not survive an Iron Bowl loss ... I still believe that.

This is not going to be pretty in T-town.

Re: Scale of 0-10, how excited are you for next year?

It depends. If we have a press conference in a few minutes where Shula announces that he is leaving, then I would be very excited. If Shula stays, we can look forward to officially being lower tier SEC. Shula= JOKE! 1-11 against Ark., AU, and LSU 3-16 against those three plus UGA, UT, and UF It is very hard to swallow that our administration is going to continue to allow below average football at Alabama. That's right- I said below average. I think many of us would understand being average with the problems we have had, but we are simply a joke right now. I guess we can hope the basketball team will have a great year. roll tide :conf2:

Re: OK - Post game thoughts thread. Let's not have 50 new ones...

A few thoughts:

Didn't we have Caldwell playing right tackle at the end of the first half? If so, didn't he shut down Groves? Why did we not do that in the 2nd half?

Why did Johns and Castille not get the ball more?

Why do we kick a field goal early in the game on the 2 yard line but we go for 2 points twice at the same place on the field?

Why did we burn 2 timeouts in the 2nd half and then come back with wasted plays?

"...we were close...."

"....needed to execute better...."

That's the new "challenge" and "opportunity" ...

Boys and girls, welcome back to the DuBose era. Except DuBose did occasionally beat Auburn.

I'm as low as I've been as a Bama fan since 2000, maybe lower.

OK, on the second to last drive, if we are going to kick a field goal anyway, why call time out. Take the delay of game, the five yards doesn't hurt as much as losing the time out.

Re: OK - Post game thoughts thread. Let's not have 50 new ones...

I just don't want to have to go through yet another coaching change. As frustrated as I am with this season I just don't think starting over is the way to go. Changes need to be made, there's no doubt about that. We're starting to get the talent back and the depth. Now we need the playcalling to match the talent and I think you have to take a hard look at getting a solid OC and take the playcalling away from Shula. I just don't think he has the confidence in his players to call a good offensive game on a consistent basis.

Re: OK - Post game thoughts thread. Let's not have 50 new ones...

Not sure if this has been discussed but why was Capps starting this game? My frustration, at least one of them, is why does Capps continue starting?

Re: OK - Post game thoughts thread. Let's not have 50 new ones...

Im a Shula supporter most of the times but here are the obvious things that bother me:

When we are desperate, we put in an O line that works and run plays that work with certain players. However, we run other plays with other players because we "want" it to work under other players and scemes for the rest of the game. It is called adjusting. Winners do it, and well, others dont.

poor coaching. that's no joke, no slam, just a fact.

Re: OK - Post game thoughts thread. Let's not have 50 new ones...

if we don't fire a coach who has gone 0-4 against auburn, and in his 4th year goes 6-6 in the regular season, what has alabama football come to?

WHAT HAVE WE COME TO?

If we as fans don't demand better, by tolerating being losers, we are encouraging it.

[just moving my post to the proper thread]

Re: OK - Post game thoughts thread. Let's not have 50 new ones...

Who are "the money people" that can put pressure on?

Re: OK - Post game thoughts thread. Let's not have 50 new ones...

Same song sixth verse! The offensive line is simply bad! The play calling has been better in the last two games, but the O line is just terrible! There has to be a change in assistant coaches, no other option exists! Bama should be better next year, but the offensive has light years to go! Truly pathetic
