After we beat UNC, I was loud. I was cheering. I was over the moon elated. Last night I was quiet. My wife in the other room thought we had lost. Not sure why I was quiet. But I was.

Bucket lists are underrated. My list doesn’t have many. But this was one. It was one out of my control, but it was on the list.

And as it came through, I thought about my Dad. He loved Bama Hoops. He loved CM. He loved Wimp. Anthony Murray was his favorite player. Cliff Windham was another. He thought Whatley was a hot dog. But loved Keith Askins. Loved Chuck Davis. He had hopes for Hobbs, and tolerated Gottfried. My Dad left left us in 2010, one month after he saw Saban’s first at Bama.

He would have loved Oats. He would have totally and completely Loved this team. He would have loved Sears. Loved Pringle. But, I think Rylan would have been his favorite. A kid that hugs his coach like a little kid. A kid who loves and adores his teammates. A kid who fired daggers last night to stem the run.

Lots of those thoughts channeled through my head as the last “minute” seemed to take forever. When the clock reached about 10 seconds, I was finally confident that it was true. Checked off my bucket list.

then I smiled. Looked at my Dad’s picture over my desk. And cried a little.

RTR. Win or lose. We’ve already won. I know I have.

Oats is building a program, one brick at a time. Making the Final 4 is an amazing accomplishment, on par with making it into the national championship game in football. You guys should celebrate this amazing season no matter what happens from here.

But, hey, you're in it, so you might as well win it.

Roll Tide! Beat UConn!

As I liked to tell my youth basketball and soccer teams when we were in tournaments, "Hey, somebody is going to win this tournament, it might as well be you." I think our guys play with so much confidence, they don't understand that they're the underdogs.

Final Four! Who'd a thunk it?!?!?! Good times - Roll Tide y'all!

I don’t know if anybody can beat UConn. But if anybody can, it’s us.

It will take us shooting near 50% from 3 probably.

But yes I agree if anyone that’s left could it’s us.

We’ll have to just straight Outscore them because they won’t be stopped.

Can’t let them go on a big run either.

Griffen has a knack at hitting a big shot to keep a team from pulling away from us and I feel good about that.

It would be really nice to get Wrightsell back because we’ll need every sharpshooter we have.

Was wondering if anyone knows if the team is staying out west or returning to Tuscaloosa for a few days. Pros and cons to both ways, but there's nothing like a good sleep in your own bed.

Oh my, I got something in my eye while reading this post. I’ll be back, I need a minute. RTR

UConn has loss to 3 teams ... Kansas, Seton Hall, and Creighton. Ironically the team that beat them by the most points is the team that plays a similar style as us.

Win or lose, this team has earned their respect ... and if the world didn't know about Bama Basketball ... they know now RTR
