I have NEVER hated a team more than I hate the barn right now. Here's to hoping Bama plays lights out, ruins their dream season, and runs those cheating sheep-lovers back to the farm.

I like the fact that Danielson made a point to bring up Fairley's dirty play to the TV audience, so that everybody in the whole country that was watching knows how dirty he is.

He got called for the late hit on Murray, but he certainly should have been ejected for blatantly leading with his helmet.
Heck, he had three personal fouls in the game. IIRC, the AHSAA has a player ejected after two, no questions asked.

I apologize if this was asked and answered, but what COULD the SEC do to Fairley if they decided to discipline him?
Mike Slive doesn't have the stones to suspend a star player from a team that has a shot at the BCSCG, but he could and should suspend him.

I mean, at this point, what's to stop other players from doing the same? How long before some kid is crippled from garbage like this.

Football is football, and it's a rough and dangerous sport. Fairley's antics, however, go way beyond the boundaries of "playing till the whistle".

I can't wait til Karma bites him in the butt, and it will. I know it's sounds bad, but I wouldn't care if he gets a career ending injury, poetic justice.
Yeah, it sounds bad. But I think many of us, including me, are right there with you. I wouldn't be displeased to see him carted off the field, never to return. If he's not stopped, he'll end someone else's career, or maybe even their life. What he brings to the game is not and should not be part of the game.

At this point, I don't want him to be suspended because I don't want to hear any excuses if we are able to beat them. However, I mentioned Fairley's play several games ago and thought he should be disciplined then. Football is a rough sport, and I hope it always remains a rough and tough sport. However, dirty players and cheap shots should be disciplined.

I thought Fairley looked like a dirty player after what appeared to be a late hit horsecollar tackle that knocked Mallett out after the first half of the UA-AU game. But against UGA, Fairley took thuggery to a whole new level. The UGA QB is going to be a great one, and Fairley tried to end his career with those cheap shots he delivered.

Speaking as a SEC-fan, the Tide is the last, best chance to restore the league's dignity and prevent these AU thugs from representing the league in the BCS. I didn't like it one bit the way ya'll came back in the 4th quarter and beat my Hogs. But you did it with dignity; your team played like champions. The Tide D is the best I've seen all year; they hit hard, but they play clean. And when it was done, ya'll trotted off the field like a team that had been there before; this was a far cry from the smirking, "look at me" chest pounding we've seen from Cam & Co. I'll be pulling for the Tide in the Iron Bowl; RTR!

Thanks Idi, and good first post. I hope we are able to silence them and I think we will. I don't think they've faced a defense like ours in a hostile environment like ours.

And I'll be pulling for Arkansas in The Battle for the Boot! Hope the pigs can win one for The Last Swine of Scotland!

Mike Slive dosen't have stones. OTOH if we'd had "Keith Stone" in charge of the SEC this mess would be sorted out by now. I mean the guy is so smooth and always has a case of Keystone Light.

Sports by Brooks has this piece out today.

In addition to his personal fouls, Fairley was at the center of an ugly scuffle between the teams as Georgia tried to run out the clock during Auburn’s 49-31 victory. Eventually, in a bizarre scene, Auburn assistant coach Trooper Taylor was summoned onto the field to assist in the removal of Fairley from the game.

Fairley is extremely lucky he didn’t seriously injure Murray with his spear from behind on the QB. If Auburn and the SEC does not respond with some manner of punishment to the Auburn defensive lineman, I wouldn’t want to be working in the conference office if a player’s career is ended by a similar, egregious cheap shot in the future.

With the renewed focus on players using their helmets as weapons, Auburn and the SEC will be setting a very, very dangerous precedent if it does not swiftly and legitimately punish Fairley’s despicable act.
I couldn't agree more. The act was despicable, and Taylor's antics have no place in the game, from pee wee to the NFL.

Never have I witnessed a more determined attempt to harm an opposing player. Fairley had numerous cheep shots before the refs finally flagged him…No doubt about it he gets the filthiest, dirtiest and down right immoral trophy hands down…He is an all American for sure in that category…I hope our guys are aware of his dirty behavior.

Does anyone else get the feeling that auburn is ticking a lot of coaches off these days. Danielson mentioned that several coaches had complained to him about Fairly's dirty play. Richt spent much of the game yesterday complaining to the refs about the dirty play. And we already know that Saban, Mullen, and Meyer hate the barn.

With Auburn losing its whole offensive line, Fairly (will probably go pro), and Cam (will not be there next year), I can see a lot of teams running up the score on Auburn next year.

It just appears to me that they are setting themselves up as the most hated team in the SEC.
