Props to Dak and State

Ya know, I just don't know if I know anything anymore, with regards to who is deserving of a Top 4 ranking, etc.

I think we do -- and my main reasoning is that, we lost one game to Ole Miss - by a few inches ultimately...after losing 3 starters to injury during the game, and not having Eddie Jackson in the lineup. AND committing 4 turnovers and committing more than a few stupid penalties.

But, beyond that, I don't know if I would want to be on the committee.....

I don't know how I feel about State. Good ball team, yes......Great? Not sure.....
Oregon -- gimmicky team that has others catching up to them quickly. Their talent level (for the most part) is equivalent to what you would find at TCU, Baylor, and Ok State..... Their style allows them to dominate other teams of similar talent.
TCU and Baylor -- look like that could blow out someone or lose badly to someone on any given Saturday -- they give me no confidence that they could be the NC
FSU? -- If they get down to us by 3 scores -- I think we embarrass them badly.....

So, if I was putting my top 4 together, right now -- without looking at records --

Bama
Miss State
TCU
Oregon (holding nose)

so what youre telling me is...head to head doesnt mean anything right??? did you miss that baylor went to norman, oklahoma and embarrassed OU in their own house. did you miss the fact that baylor embarrassed KU 60-14 and TCU had to hang on for a 4 point win? why would you or anyone else put tcu in over baylor is beyond me, maybe i just aint smart enough to understand

Sorry, CC..............I have to stick with a fellow Texun on this one.

I know..........some of you are sick of my anti-TCU rants. We shall see who is right, in the end.

Besides our defense playing well yesterday, I think Mullens play calling was pretty bland and conservative. They ran 88 offensive plays. Our offense has to get more consistent, not necessarily scoring points on every drive, but putting some time consuming drives together to give our defense a rest. Can't consistently go 3 and out, especially in the 3rd quarter.

If State isn't still in the top four then the committee is a total farce. That simple.
sip

I agree.

And I think Miss St. should be in the top 4, but I think the committee will not let that happen (in the final poll, they may make it this week). With all the talk pre-season, and all the chatter since they released the first poll, None of that matters. After Championship weekend, the top 4 will be (considering all Champions have 1 loss), will be SEC Champ, Pac-12 Champ, Big 12 Champ, and ACC Champ. If any of these Champions have more than 1 loss, and Ohio St. wins out.... they will get in.

Remember all this playoff talk started when Bama got a rematch at LSU. It won't happen again unless they are crazy circumstances. All the talk radio in the preseason was 2 teams from the SEC winding up in the playoffs, which I think is and should be possible. This committee's job is to have 4 of the power 5 represented in the playoffs.

I think the football gods are trying to get us all to believe that Ohio st should be in the top four. Its all about revenue and ratings.

I totally agree MSU should be in the top four. I'm afraid the SEC fatigue is working against getting two teams in. If Ohio State is in their place then we know that's what happened.

I have a lot of respect for them. They played a good game.

Here is a great picture of Lane showing his sportsmanship with Dak.

Great Post. Thanks for sharing.

Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I didn't feel threatened by them at all yesterday..not at any point. Brown & McKinney are real ballers on the defensive side of the ball. But with regard to Dak and Robinson, I saw nothing special from either of them. And afterward, they both were adamant that "we had them" (Really?!? At what point??) "We just beat ourselves" (Right. You were playing against the air. The you tripped over the grass...the kool-aid man tackled you)

Props to both teams, they played toe to toe for 60 minutes, neither quit.

That is why our team this year...is one of my favorites. They might not be the most experienced/talented Saban team, but they sure are resilient and never quit. They have great attitudes and seem pretty humble.

Mississippi State were brilliant and the Tide was lucky Dak was not at his best. That being said, the "Committee" clearly has an agenda to have only one SEC team in the top 4, that Miss State will get screwed over for an inferior team like Ohio State. It was quite evident following the one top ranked team OSU beat, that they rose up to 8th.

Disagree. We will see Tuesday.
