Good news and good article. Sanders says he plans to come to UA junior camp. Interesting that he said that the two biggest offers he has so far is UA and AU. I thought that FSU was really high on his board so if he put AU and UA above at this time I feel really good about our chances here.

Let the late night parent avoiding phone calls from Trooper begin, I'm sure sanders will be receiving daily faxes of our depth chart as long as au is in on him.
Once again swooping in on the recruits Alabama is pursuing. Coach Saban does all the legwork and Trooper sneaks in the back door unannounced to parents. Good thing is Barry Sanders, the dad, won't fall for any of that nonsense. Unless Trooper left Okie State glowingly I'm pretty sure they know all about his "ways".
It just hit me i met him when he was 8 or 9... not that he'd remember
it was 2001, so dad had been retired a few years.... me and my friend were working in Boston for MCI and we were flying home to Pensacola when we saw Barry Sanders in the airport in Memphis... my buddy bet me $20 i wouldn't ask him for an autograph, so i walked over, and said "are you Barry?"... he smiled and said "yeah" ... i had a Maxim magazine and asked if he would sign it... he said that he was traveling with his son and didn't want to cause any commotion, they were sitting alone, kinda to the side with what i assume were a couple of personal security guards sitting close by... i said "no problem, not trying to bother you, just couldn't pass up the opportunity to say hello to one of the best RB's ever."
but it just hit me that the kid (his son) that was with him that day is the same Barry Sanders that we have a thread about... wow time flys

Not to put a damper on your story, but it might not have been this son. I think he has like 5 kids.
well it would be just a coincidence then if the 8 or 9 yr old little boy that was with him (10yrs ago), who would now be 18-19, turned out to be someone else... but it's definitely a possibility
it was more the 10 yrs had passed (already) that got my attention
I've got a way to see if that was really Barry Sanders who we're talking about in this thread for you BamasRollin. Did you try to tackle him and he juked you or did you race him down the terminal and by the time he was at terminal J, you were at terminal G? Then that might have been this son. Man, I would love for him to commit to UA
son and dad are in Ttown this weekend for Junior Day.

I knew he could play football, but I didn't realize he handled himself so well in front of a camera.....sharp young man
Wow, he's impressive. Sharp as a tack for a 16 or 17-year-old. There are tons of recruits that could take lessons from him.
What's with Cecil Hurt tweeting the jumbotron shot of them together at the game has to be self-reported to the ncaa? Is this contact illegal?
The contact isn't illegal. It's Junior Day. These are going on all over the country. The problem is that one of UA's cameras panned to Coach Saban during the game, showing him on the jumbotron. It shouldn't be a problem, but will be reported.
