Recruiting Update 1/20

Re: Recruiting Update 1/27

Poke I know for fact that CNS and KS right now are letting Caleb Try DE he is 6'5 or so 280lbs when he was on official visit. I am kin to him so I would know. But as some has suggested he could if he does not cut it on Defence he would fall back on his offence ability.

Re: Recruiting Update 1/27

I expect that we should keep an eye on Tomlinson and Alexander with an outside, outside interest about cyler miles (WASH QB commit) but done see it happening with him.

Re: Recruiting Update 1/27

I believe on paper this class has the potential to be good if not better than th 08' class. we will have to wait and see. but as far as finishing #1 , I think its a possibility. Florida and FSU could have a late push and pass Bama up, maybe Ohio State and Michigan as well. no matter, this class is simply awesome!!

RTR!!

Re: Recruiting Update 1/27

Any late news on Gladney?

I hope we can just keep all those verbally committed. When you have the #1 class, other teams tend to gun for your prospects.

I think it has been a fairly foregone conclusion for some time now that, regardless of his status as a commitment or any signing ceremony that may take place, he will not actually be signing a Letter of Intent with Alabama.

Re: Recruiting Update 1/27

Usually within a week of NSD....Drake got his last week and posted it on Twitter.

Nothing stops them other than it can't be accepted before Wednesday.

So if a player signed it and faxed it, a secretary would just have to let it sit at the fax machine until Wednesday?

Obviously no system will be the system for recruiting and signing LOI, but the NCAA should be able to figure out a better system than the one we have now (faxing in signatures, no early signing period, this instance).

I'm surprised fax machines are still being used for LOI's. I think they will be eliminated in the near future and LOI's will be scanned and e-mailed.

Easier to prove delivery confirmation with a fax. I'm hoping we don't have many surprises on NSD. If we get everyone presently committed to us, I'll be more than thrilled.

Re: Recruiting Update 1/27

Does anyone remember a couple of years ago (maybe) that a recruit actually signed 2 LOI's and faxed them in to different schools? (I coulda dreamed that, though).

Re: Recruiting Update 1/27

Tomlinson has his Bama LOI in hand...

I think this means we get him. The only way I see him going to Georgia Tech is if we don't have room for him, and if he's received an LOI from 'Bama, we've got room.

Re: Recruiting Update 1/27

Yeah, didn't his mother forge his signature on one of them.....?

Lol, and it was a DB out of South Louisiana too...

Even so, not expected to have any issues tomorrow with LC. Hopefully his fax rolls in early. Mom has stated publicly she will sign it, and I'm not even sure if her signature will be required (I think Collins is actually 18 now, and he could get his Dad to sign if needed).

As I recall, it was a top offensive line recruit who sent his papers both to Florida and Miami. Forget which one turned out to be finding, but I think it was UF

Some Tech folks still believe they get him, but what a haul that will be out of Georgia. The AJC boards have been apoplectic for months.

The rule actually states anyone under the age of 21, regardless of marital status, has to have their parent or legal guardian sign the NLI. Now since LC chose to live with his father, his father should be his legal guardian and the mother has say unless LC wants her to sign also.
