IF CRR does come on down, will Trickett come with him to coach the OL? I think that would be one of the biggest changes to happen, and would definitely feel better about our future. I definitely feel the OL would take on a more aggressive approach :biggrin2:

I hope so.I think CRR will bring his entire staff with him.He is loyal to his assistants. We really need help on the O-Line and I believe CRT will be the answer.

Ricky Trickett is a good coach and a great recruiter, especially here in the south.
He is the main reason Wingnut will be scared of this coaching staff.

I've heard he gets results "the old fashion way." He'll probably show up for the first day of spring practice wearing a "fear the Rick" shirt.

Cole Cubelic (sp?) was really dogging Trickett on JOX yesterday...really had some unkind words for him as a former player...kinda makes me think we're gonna have some nasty aggressive linemen very soon...which is fine by me.

I think "doggin" him is about the nicest way you could have possibly expressed Cole's comments. He ripped him a new one...he said he was a piece of dirt and he got results by tearing people down. He said he never heard him say a nice word and that he coached through FEAR rather than positive reinforcement.

I personally don't know how much of that is true but even if 100% is true, the bottom line is that the man can coach! Maybe you don't want to be big buddies with him after you graduate, but something tells me that all of those All American's and high draft choices are thanking him today. Also, is it possible that Cole didn't like him because he didn't play as much as he thought he should? I don't know...did Cole start for the entire time he was there? Not being an Aubie person, I don't know much about him.

Wow!!! the things you have to do to bring in a new offensive line coach :biggrin2:

CLASSIC!!

And it's soooooo true. If CMS would have made a couple of changes last year along those lines I believe he would still be at BAMA.
But saying that I believe with "a" CRR hire we will be way ahead of the curve.

yeah you're right...he didn't pull any punches...I don't know if he started or what? I'm of the opinion that he's exactly what our guys will benefit from. If RR comes then I can imagine some "lower gym" experiences in store for the O-Linemen.

Cole's comments make him sound like a whinney mama's boy who does not know how to accept people of authority. Obviously he would never make it in the military or many businesses for that matter.
If this is how RT coaches I think it will be a breath of fresh air. Tear 'em down then build 'em up. They will be stronger and work as one.

I heard on 730 WUMP this morning (around 9:30 AM) Max Howell said that Tricket was the leading candidate (according to his sources) for the WV coaching job. If so, he would get him on the phone to discuss. Listen in to WUMP for more info:

From Mobile Register article:

LSU offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher and Florida associate head coach John "Doc" Holliday are among the leading contenders to replace Rodriguez at West Virginia.

Fisher, a former Auburn assistant, grew up in Clarksburg, W.Va., and played at Salem (W.Va.) College. Holliday, a former Mountaineer player, served 20 years on Nehlen's staff at West Virginia before spending five seasons at North Carolina State as the Wolfpack's associate head coach and wide receivers coach. He joined Urban Meyer in Gainesville prior to the 2005 season. He is a native of Hurricane, W.Va.
