Robert Marve video!!!

just watched some new senior footage and all I can say is wow. Arm strength is there, touch is there, mobility is there.....and he earned the scholly because of his chalkboard smarts.....we might just have a QB battle here in a couple of years.

What's the word on that WR Cam Martin? He looks like a tall kid with pretty good hands. Is he someone that will play at the next level?

I asked a friend of mine who lives in the Shoals about MARVE. I value his opinion and he said that we really didn't beat out anyone special for Marve. He didn't seemed too impressed. McElroy is the one I hear awesome things about.

Our coaches tend to always be a little ahead of the pack when it comes to evaluating talent . Daddy Bowden seems to almost follow our every offer . That being said , Marve is a "late bloomer" and has been the QB MVP at all of the camps and combines he has attended . All of the host schools for the camps have also offered Marve . CJK and CMS have a strong relationship with his father , so others have given up the chase . At the Bama camp he out performed the competition that included some big names as well as Elite11 QB Brock Mansion . He is making quite a name for himself this year , with his level of play , well outside of the state of Florida .

In other words ....... the coaches and "experts" are very impressed with Robert Marve .

RTR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:BigA:

a pretty well respected opinion says that Marve, now, is the best athlete of any QB we have and could bring us more offensive sets.....take that FWIW.

Yeah well, we didn't really beat out anyone special for Demeco Ryans either..:BigA:

All that matters is how OUR coaches evaluate talent. Only this and nothing more..:biggrin2:

You can take that info to the bank, 'cause it's true. From seeing him play, I can't say enough good things about his talent level. A very gifted player who listens, learns and executes better than any I have seen in a while. I'm no expert, just a fan, but he reminds me of a couple of former Tide QB's.

What type of offensive sets are we talking about? Not to be read into, just curious. Spread option? More Spead shotgun? I'm just confused about what more offensive sets would mean given our playbook.

Took another look at McElroys videos. From opposing team uniforms determined they were taken relatively early in season. Representative videos would be those taken during 6-game TX5A Championship series when he averaged over 300yds/70%/3passing TD's/game against TX best...certainly not some Mickey Mouse league. Saw him litterly shred a couple of nationally ranked teams. Some of those games he played just over a half due to blowouts. But guess he'd best start packing his gear...the flavor of the month is inbound ;)

Don't know who your opinion comes from but, from seeing him play live (seen him twice now), he makes most of our present QB's look no better than 2nd team, and I do respect JPW for what he has been able to do with the O line he has in front of him.... But this kid has ALL the tools!!

Just hope with whats going on now he doesn't do a major waffle on his position! :conf2:

Robert Marve Highlights: Plant-Osceola

Here are some more Robert Marve videos. He was 19-26, 243 yards passing with 3 TDs and 2 interceptions. He also ran for one TD and had 65 yards rushing.

Highlights: Plant-Osceola
The Match-up: The 4A-10 district champion Plant Panthers (10-0) faced the 4A-9 runner up Osceola Warriors (8-2). Both teams carried momentum into the game. Undefeated Plant was coming off two big wins against traditional rivals (Jefferson and Robinson) and Osceola was fresh off of an upset win over previously undefeated 5A Largo (9-1). This game was a contrast of styles. The Panthers are led by highly touted quarterback Robert Marve and his crew of veteran receivers. The Warriors are a running team led by feature back Justin Hart, shifty quarterback Sergio Allen, and bruising fullback Bryce Williams.
