Rivals.com (Bama affiliate) are picking Collins and Jones to Bama.

btw, wanted to see the "feel" over on tigerdroppings, there is a 46 page discussion on Collins. it went from LC is 100% LSU to "well if one player means that much to Bama, y'all can have him". funny stuff. meltdown to commence after 6:30 Central time. :)
HAHA..It will pale in comparison the the "meltdown" they'll have come Monday night at around 10:30..It will be the ultimate Cajun "Meltdown"..

I have never seen a recruiting "expert" more consistently wrong than Andrew Bone.
Bone has never been an "expert." At most he's a (now) grown-man who has been stalking 17 and 18 year old recruits since he was that age.

In any event, few have a worse track record than he does. He's had a couple of big hits over the years (Kenny Bell, for one), but he's had far more misses than any "expert" or "insider" should. He's no outright zealot like Jeff Lee, but he's not much of a reliable source either.

I did more calling around last night and the overall dynamic was seemingly the same as it was the day before. More optimism on the 'Bama side, to be sure, than the previous night, but still enough pessimistic 'Bama followers and optimistic LSU followers to give you a lot of concern.

Quite frankly, I'll reiterate what I said yesterday: This is all the direct result of Collins intentionally putting out a lot of mis-information. That's the only way that you have some sort of a split opinion to this effect. He's playing the game, building drama, and leading someone on. We just don't know who that someone is just yet. Like I said yesterday, the problem with that is that people can be relaying what they believe to be reliable info that is, at bottom, just made up nonsense.

We'll see tonight. I'm relatively hopeful, but I've been following recruiting long enough to know that last-minute about-faces from out-of-state prospects are often the rule, not the exception. Really wouldn't be surprised either way it turns out.

Bone now predicts on the Scout site(free info), LC to Bama.
Correct. Two grain of salt caveats to be considered here:

(1) As detailed above, Bone has never been particularly reliable.

(2) How much of this about-face boils down to helping fend off the backlash that boiled over yesterday when he suddenly ran with the Collins-to-LSU bit? This last-minute change could just be a ploy to tell the 'BamaMag subscribers what they pay to hear (and make no mistake, no one pays $130 a year to get bad breaking news). Wouldn't be the first time something like this happened.

Alot of these so called experts who are at the UAAA event are begging for info. They are like paparazzi following these kids around looking for a scrap of info. Tuesday some recruit(no one has ever said who exactly) said he overheard Collins tell A Johnson a current commit that Collins was going to LSU. Next thing you know thier boards twisted around like all do and they were screaming lock. Then their sites followed suit and the next thing you know some of ours did the same, including Bone. Even one of their best posters of several of their boards that they say is the most reliable they had said his sources were telling him the same thing once he heard the other stuff.

Yesterday however it changed to our side and everyone started to scramble. I read on one of their boards that Ragland was in the room when Collins called Saban last night to tell him the good news and and apparantly some other UA recruits were very happy saying it happened. Now their trusted poster is saying is info might not be reliable. So now they are scrambling.

The only facts are I have seen nothing whatsoever to say either is correct. I have seen a lot of hearsay and 2nd hand info being passed around with no validity what so ever, including Bone and some of his peers. Fact LC has not been quoted or tweeted that he has called coaches, told anyone, or which way he may be leaning. The only thing he has done on twitter is say he was upset about his mother not coming and about how much he loves his GF. Who by the way is at the event with her father.

For those that asked about how serious him and his GF are, I always thought it was serious but it may play a bigger role than I originally thought. Last night she posted a pic of LC with her father and said this with the pic.

over on Tidesports, the tune has change 180 degrees. it went from LC to LSU to now solid "insiders" (Boots) claiming LC to Bama bound 100%. :rolleye2:

one more thing, I mentioned earlier that Rivals (Bama) predicted Collins to Bama.

today's front page has them showing the UAAA predictions. Aaron Suttles, the same mod that predicted Yeldon's fip to Bama is saying Collins to Bama and the temperature is hot on this commitment!! :)

That is all these so-called "experts" really are: stalkers. They hound and harass players with phone calls and text messages, try to tap into often times private information on social media sites, constantly snoop around friends, family, coaches, and outright leaches, all looking for the least little bit of insight that they can pass along as "news" to make a buck off the latest sucker to shell out his credit card number for their scams.

It's an ugly, ugly business, and no one has ever seriously argued that it wasn't. It's no accident that a growing number of prospects attempt to totally shut down their recruiting process from outsiders. It usually doesn't take a rational-minded recruit and his family too long to realize they need to maintain a healthy distance from these creeps. The ones that don't are increasingly becoming one and the same with those recruits that love all of the attention and the spotlight being placed on them, regardless of the questionable nature of the people actually illuminating that spotlight.

Bingo. At least someone gets it.

As true as this is, I can't just blame the "experts." They wouldn't be doing this if they didn't feel like there were enough people who would pay to get that information. Because of that, those of us driving this craze should also take part of the blame (myself included).

Would be a great lift for sure but I'm ok if we just keep what has committed
This is going to be a very strong class already.
Now everyone else wants to be a part of the process come on a ring awaits you.

Hope he picks up the Crimson colored hat tonight. What a HUGE pick up he is if UA lands him
Stating the obvious: This would be a huge swing. Obviously with LSU being our biggest competition this makes picking up LC two wins in one since it raises our roster talent at the expense of theirs. We haven't been overly successful over the past decade in stealing LA blue chips that LSU has put the full court press on. This is something we need to make a more common occurence and maybe LC can help pave the way.

Dwyane Thomas, an lsu commit, just tweeted landon collins will be going to lsu. Who knows about the accuracy of that statement, but it just goes to show there's others out there who are as confident as some of us have been.
