I'm sort of puzzled at the logic that sort of leaves the position coach out of the S&C equation. That leaves the HC in the position of trying to monitor the entire squad, and that's just not realistic. The way it works everywhere is that the position coaches have the primary responsibility for the guys they supervise and they are the ones supposedly keeping logs. Shula's method left the S&C coaches on an island - three of them in a row, all of whom could do a decent job. To be blunt, the problem goes back to Price and his 9-5 approach. His staff, or at least some of them, bought off on that and they were the last ones you'd expect to see down at the weight room on their "off-hours" making sure their charges were working out. The overall effect wasn't much different from the Dubose era, when we were ridiculously out of shape. In fact, one could make a good argument that our OL was in better shape the first two years CMS coaches because of carry-over habits from Fran's approach (yuck)...
