Although the ESPN crowd have finally seen the light and acknowledge the SEC to be the best conference, until they show more SEC games on the ABC/ESPN channels, we won't get recognition we deserve from the NE and Midwest or west.

When is the CBS contract renegotiated? Their commentators are abysmal and just don't seem to be as professional as the ABC/ESPN games. I would love ABC/ESPN to take over the SEC and give CBS the Big Two, oh I mean Big 11, oh no, wrong again - Big X.

Let me explain why CBS is far better than ABC:

If you live in Alaska, Ohio, Maine, California, or any other place that picks up CBS... you're seeing the SEC Game of the Week.

If you live in those states and turn on ABC, you're getting regional coverage.

More people see the SEC on CBS than they would on ABC. If we were on ABC, the Northeast and Midwest would not be seeing us like they do right now.

With CBS, the SEC has the best television deal next to Notre Dame.

As long as Fox does not have that damn robot jump across the screen then I am all for Fox jumping on board. Joe Buck would be fun.

Well put DD. :wink:

You did your homework. :smile:

Try "little eleven". All lower case letters. That is what I use.

I hated Fox's bowl coverage.

People rag on CBS, but you can't tell me Verne Lundquist doesn't love college football and that he doesn't know the difference between Jacob Hester and Keiland Williams. The FOX guys don't know Auburn from Alabama.

I was one that liked FOX's bowl coverage, especially since they didn't go on and on about certain teams (Read - Notre Dame).

Did you catch my reply post asking where you got injured in Austria?

Sorry, missed it. It was on the illustrious slopes of Auffach which is about 30 KM from Vogel. I tipped my skis, went over but the bindings didn't come loose and that was it. Called out "Helfen mich" "Aidez-moi" and "Help". The ski patrol were marvellous and it was such a rush on their sled/gurney rushing down the mountain a few inches off the surface!

Almost every Saturday night during the season, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Classic had an SEC game on. What more do you want. Sometimes there were two SEC games on those networks at the same time. I like to coverage the SEC gets. I could care less who announces the games on TV as long as the game is on TV.

I agree with the OP, I don't like the CBS deal, and here's why:

1. I don't live out of region; so I would see the ABC regional coverage;

2. Those who do live out of region can pick up an ABC regional affiliate if they have expanded cable and/or DTV;

3. CBS did not broadcast an SEC team game on Sep. 1, Sep. 8, and Sep. 29. I don't know the reason, but here are a few of the games that went on those weekends: Sep. 8-U.S.Car. @ UGA; Sep. 29- AU vs. UF; Ole Miss vs. UGA;

4. If ABC/ESPN picks up SEC, there will be more trips of gameday to our schools, and a greater tendency for ESPN to pick up lesser SEC games. I can't stand it on Saturdays where there is one late CBS SEC game, and one early LF game, spending the entire afternoon sorting through Big 10, Big 12 and Pac 10 games,
