Great point as it does play into these smaller revenue sports- Now that my disappointment in the SEC tourney is subsiding a bit, getting optimistic that Beab and Briski could dominate in the postseason and we make a run to OKC
But maybe I’ve just had too much coffee…
You sure that's coffee...........:D

From what I've been told he wanted Wallace to move to catcher. May be the dumbest ask of all time. I heard Sides was a internal personality conflict with someone in the team. I am not sure what happened with Kilfoyl. He believes if you have 1 good pitcher that is all you need. He ruins the confidence of all the other pitchers because he jerks them out at the 1st sign of trouble. He leaves his ace in too long and over uses them. Our hitters have a poor idea if the strike zone. We take more strikes than any team I've ever seen. I could go on and on.
We apparently had a lot of clubhouse crud going on. We lost Sides after the 2021 season, and then lost six more after the 2022 season: Kilfoyl - Okie State ace, Megan Bloodworth - Okie State starter, Dallas Goodnight - UGA starter, Jenna Lord, Abby Doer, and Savannah Woodard. A couple of them probably left because they wanted a new start, but I think most of them were because of the drama. I know it seemed like the team was gutted at the time. But it started with Wallace, who just hit 4 HR's in the SEC tourney. She was willing to sit out a year because she wanted out. Hope we can fix things and return BAMA softball to what we normally expect.

Well, I guess we'll find out at 6pm today where BAMA softball is going. I hope we get to host a regional, but I think it's a long shot. I think we end up a 3 seed somewhere far away. Any inside thoughts out there?

No way we are a 3 seed. Either a low 1 seed or high 2 seed. I say between 1 seed 14-16 overall.

Seeing several projections having us as as #13 hosting a regional with Clemson as the two seed with us- I’d take that all day
The articles pointed to our top 16 RPI and as pointed out earlier today, guaranteed to sell tickets

Looking back at our schedule I think what helps us is 2 wins over Arizona and a nice win over FSU (down a bit this year maybe?) and we did salvage one win in series’ with Tenn Fla UGA ARK

I think the abysmal hitting sours the overall feel of the season

You called it. #14 seed. I guess my vision of how we played in the SEC, especially our hitting, did not give me any great hope. I'm still a bit surprised we're a 1 seed in our regional.
We are pitiful in my opinion. The best 2 players are 2nd team SEC. We should be top 5 team every year and won 4-5 more National Championships. I don't think we played that strong of a schedule but somehow we are #13 RPI (that's why I said we'd be 14-16 overall seed). If we don't score some runs. we'll be lucky to make it out of regionals. Super Regionals could get ugly in Knoxville. They have a team that could win it all. All of that being said, I'll be there this weekend cheering on the girls. Roll Tide!!

No one hitting over .300. By comparison OU has 8 girls in their lineup hitting over .350.

I thought we were hovering in the #16 RPI at the end of the year, and felt our one and done appearance in the tourney would have ended our hope of hosting. I was wrong so I hope you can pull the ladies thru in the regional!

I'd need to do some digging through the online media guide, but this has to be the first year maybe since Murph's early years that we didn't have at least one All Sec first teamer?? A buddy said to me "hey, all 13 SEC teams made the tourney, see the conference is TOUGH" I told him no argument there at all, BUT it's where Bama is in the pecking order right now that is disheartening. Maybe 11th out of 13??

Texas 1 - 8 batting over .360 and the #9 hitter is batting .348. In other words, we’re in trouble. Most fans are talking about OU & Texas football but as a softball dad and a resident of Texas my eyes are on softball as well.
We definitely need to do something as we obviously don't hit very well. Is it we just can't hit, or is it we just haven't had any proper hitting instruction. I do know we seem to look at a lot of good pitches and swing at a lot of bad pitches. Since I love BAMA softball I hope we can fix it.
