***teaser Title Warning***

Teaser this, teaser that.. is it really that big of a deal!? So you click on a post curious as to what the actual topic is.. turns out it doesn't interest you all that much. click the "back" button on your browser. Time wasted: 1.4 seconds. big whoop.

If it's a guideline of the site, it is a big deal... as is publicly stating that amins and mods shouldn't worry about "small matters."

If you start a thread and it disappears without a trace, first ask yourself if it were a descriptive title. If it were, then look down the board and see if the subject already has a thread...

Interesting thread. I never really thought about the reason for the "no teaser" rule, since I don't start many new topics and have broadband. It's a good rule to have and follow.

Who still has dial up??? It's 2007. Get with the program.

LOL, yeah I know what you mean, but many people live in areas where broadband just isn't available. Also, while traveling many hotel connections can be just as slow as dialup.

Another problem with teaser titles is that it clutters up the board with duplicate topics. They also promote "vanity" threads where a person just wants to vent.

That is main problem with some of the other boards. Too many times there are threads titled "BREAKING NEWS!!! THIS IS BIG!!!" and then the message is "Awbarn still sux".

In some places dial up is all that's available.

Beyond that, it's annoying trying to figure out of a thread is something that interests you or not. We mods try to set aside the time to read most everything, but most folks don't have said time to do that.
