The Call

The hard pill to swallow is we're just not good enough right now to overcome a really bad break (like the opening fumble in the Tenn game, for instance).

Normally he's a pretty level-headed poster who realizes that an opponent's board the day after a game including a call like that is not really the right place to argue...

I can understand LSU fans wanting to take up for their team.

However, even the drunkest LSU fan has to admit that was an atrocious non-call of interference. There's no way to defend that.

Am I saying the refs were cheating for LSU? I doubt it. But, it does re-enforce my beliefs that we have the worst officials in college football. How can we justify ourselves to be a "premiere" conference when we have such an inept crew of officials? This problem didn't start Saturday, and it's not just confined to Bama. Ask Florida. Ask Arkansas (that idiotic official who blew his whistle before the S.C. player received the punt, who eventually fumbled).

Did the non-call make a difference in the game? Sorry, TexasTigers..but, it did. Bama would have had the ball at the one with first and goal, and there was a 99.9% chance it woudl jhave been a touchdown, thus giving Bama a 17-6 lead and the field position would have stayed in Bama's favor at that point. You guys might would have won the game, but the score would not have been 26-10. If LSU had won, it would have been more like a score of 20-17. It makes a huge difference.

You can spin it, you can argue it, but the fact is, the bad non-call of interference made all the difference in the world for a team who already had odds stacked against them. You can't take that away from them.

This is spot on. Still all the belly aching seems in poor taste for Alabama fans.
The fact is until we have the players and are good enough to score enough points and continue to play lAlabama defence, things like the aforementiond play at Ten and the bad call last might will be hard to overcome. Our margin was always going to be very slim this year due to our situation, we all knew it. However, again, this continuous harping on one bad play makes us sound like the fans from the plains IMO. Keep your heads up.

I understand that LSU might've won the game even if PI had been called. I would have preferred that the game be played and decided by the players of the respective schools, not the incompetency of the officials. Missed calls and controversial calls are all part of the game, but it doesn't seem too much to ask for the SEC to provide officials who have at least an inkling of the rules of the game. That was by far the most blatant example of incompetency I've ever seen. If the officials weren't paid off, the only other explanation would be incredible stupidity.

now you've got it!

Yeh no I got it, LSU won because the Refs hate Bama and wanted LSU to win.
LSU players had no role in actually winning the game. They are lucky and I am thankful we have the refs in our pocket.

Yep...that's pretty much it...Along with the injuries, that "call" broke our back. LSU WOULD NOT HAVE WON...NO WAY...IF THAT CALL HAD BEEN PROPERLY MADE!
