Will we have some hard seasons the next few years? It seems to me the next 2 years will really show the effects of the probation.

I think we see some "average" seasons, but I also think the effects of probation will still be around. The bright side is that so many freshman and sophomores got good playing time this year. So, we'll see more "experience" at all the positions.

WR & O-Line will still be an issue. The simple passes being dropped and the blown blocking assignments will have to stop.

If we can continue to have a good recruiting class this year, I think the effects from probation will finally disappear after next season. Next year could be a little rough. Lots of young guys are going to have to step up.

This is an interesting question. One of the great things about college football is that even the best analysts have difficulty in predicting the future. Momentum and team chemistry are huge factors in a team's success.

Bama's schedule will be significantly more difficult next year because we will be playing more key games away from home. New and better talent will be coming in, but it takes time and experience to make new players successful. This is expecially applicable to offensive line play. The OL will remain the big question next year.

Can we reach 9 - 2 in 2006? It is not impossible, but it will be more difficult than this season. Our 06 SEC schedule includes away games at Tennessee, Florida, LSU, and Arkansas. All of these will require our best performances to come away with wins.

We lose about eight starters on defense, which was the one unit that has kept us in games and enabled us to be at least 9-0.

The one bright start I saw yesterday was JP Wilson. Yeah, it was a "garbage drive", but it was against Auburn's starters (Tuberville was po'd that we scored late...trust me.) He looked like a leader out there.

Optimitsically...we'll be 7-4 and go to a bowl. We could be as bad as 5-6. It will depend on the performance of our O-line. It will depend if schemes and techniques are utilized, because we should have more experience on the o-line. If they don't perform well next year, then EVERYONE should be able to see where the problem is.

2007 should be another title run season.

I wholeheartedly agree with you...... 8 wins is a good year next year. Then watch out in 2007.

Bama I think...

they will go 10-2. Next year starts the 12 game season for NCAA. I think they will fall short on 2 of there away games. The team will be young back and after last night, to me the underclassmen where the mojority of the one leading the team. The reason for saying 2 they will still be young and playing away can be rough (UT, LSU, Florida) away. RTR

I'm sad today for many reasons - the barn beat us...our beloved Tide played so poorly...we were embrassed on national TV...I've got to hear from the barn fans at work today...BUT mainly I guess because reality slapped me in the face Saturday...I now feel I have a clear picture of where this program is going...

LEt me add, The O-Line will still be the biggest issue. If, god forbid, there is anything to this rift between Brodie and the O-Line rumor, then the O-line is a bigger issue than I think. They mentally aren't tough to play college football. Allowing yourself to be "embarrassed" on national Tv over something petty is a clear indication of immaturity.

I think that next year the O-Line will be better because they had a year of experience. I think that we get at least 10 wins, if JPW does at least a decent job. We are losing some key players (Brodie, DeMeco), but we have a lot of great talent coming back too.

I think if #4 is ready to go at the beginning of the season, that will help a great deal with the QB transition. There won't be as much pressure on JPW to be the playmaker because Prothro will have that role. And don't forget, we have the best running back in the SEC coming back too.

Since we beat Tenn and Fla this year, I just want to know how we do against LSU and Auburn. I'm tired of losing to both the tigers.

We could win 7 games next year handing the ball to Ken Darby, Mike Ford, Jimmy Johns, Roy Upchurch, and Glen Coffee every play. Crap, we won 6 last year doing that with a QB who isn't in JPW's league and freshman WRs. I think 8-4 will be the bottom line, possibly a 10 or even 11 win season when you factor in SEC Championship and Bowl game possibilites with the chance you play 14 games, 13 almost for sure.

Good observations. I think we'll see a better offense next year. My concern is the defense. Losing that many starters will hurt. I think we'll have winning seasons, but I do not see us re-established until 2007.
