It has to be Glenn that got it. I imagine most people know that in the comics Glenn meets Lucille. That is the only justification to leave this is as a "cliffhanger". We know that next season in the first few minutes that we'll all find out for sure and the next 55 minutes we'll be wondering "what's next?".
Glenn already got his sendoff of sorts in the mid-season finale. Therefore, not giving him his own special moment would be justifiable. It also leaves a lot of the audience guessing at a foregone conclusion. This is the only explanation that makes sense to me.

That's what it looks like to me as well.
I assume it's Glenn and can't imagine them killing Carl off, but they have departed from the comics a few times...

When I log out of my account and go back to the thread, then I can see them, otherwise, I'm in the same boat you are.
Why end it in a cliffhanger, if they just follow the comics? This makes no sense to me at all. My guess is it is Abraham, maybe. Again we will know when they start filming in June. There is no way to keep this a secret.
The only thing I am done with is watching it live. I will wait and binge watch.
It is pointless to watch live. They almost lost me with dumpstergate anyway. What actually makes me angry about the cliffhanger is AMC, Gimple, and Kirkman are not honest about why they did it. They claim brilliant and compelling storytelling when this is nothing more than a rating grab and all about $$$$. Why don’t they just admit it? I would have much more respect for them. They created a damn hashtag for it. I seriously cannot wait for it to be ruined by spoilers in June. AMC is trying to get the spoiler sites shutdown to avoid this but they won’t.

I'll keep watching. Occasionally the wife and I will watch shows that we don't care about anymore just because there's nothing else on. With it being Sunday night, even if our interest in the show starts to wane, we'll still watch. Not a lot of other options on Sunday.
That being said, the second half of this season was one of the more poorly written storylines of the entire series. They didn't necessarily deviate from the comic, but the logic of why people did certain things deviated in a huge way.
For example. There was no reason for so many main characters to leave the safety & security of Alexandria. It's easy to say "the plot demanded them to," but that's not necessarily true.
In the comics, our group first meets the Saviors because they are camped out on the road at night on their way back to the Hilltop to continue talking about trading and establishing ties to the community. They are ambushed by the Saviors out of the blue and it's at that point Negan bashes in Glenn's skull as a show of power.
That's a much more reasonable explanation of why so many of the main characters were outside the walls. The comic book is so extremely well written. I don't understand why the writers of the show choose little plot points like that to deviate from.
If anything, while watching the show, I kept wondering why Negan would only kill one of them. Rick and company just killed dozens of the Saviors and destroyed an entire compound. So Negan's answer is to only kill one of them in a show of force? That's not very intimidating. If anything it shows Negan as being reasonable, which is the complete opposite of his comic book character.
The logic of the characters just doesn't seem to line up and that's a result of bad writing. I understand wanting to deviate from the comic book - the show is not the comic book. A lot of the divergences are welcome and well done, but there's no reason to rewrite the logical or smart choices the group makes in the comics. When that happens, it makes it hard to sympathize with the characters. Idiots get what they deserve.
Negan knows Rick is the leader. In most any situation you kill the leader with the thought to demoralize the remaining members of the group. Logic does not apply in the apocalyptic world I guess.
I think he keeps Rick alive in order to keep Alexandria humming along. They want Alexandria to flourish as they take half of everything.

It kinda seemed like theyve been giving Eugene a send off for the last few episodes. And, he did give Rick instructions on how to make bullets... which totally ends the need for him as far as the story from the comic goes. It should be Glen.. but my money is on Eugene
We were talking about that last night - it certainly seems like he's a candidate. I'd hate to see him go now - I hated his character initially but he's become one of my favorites.
The cliffhangers are ridiculous. It ruins the whole pace of the show and takes away all the emotional impact of the event. TWD has lost all feeling. The aftermath is what should be the cliffhanger.. Did they do a cliffhanger when the Governor killed Hershel? Did they do a cliffhanger when Carol made the kid look at the flowers? Did they do a cliffhanger when Rick Killed Shane?? Did they do a cliffhanger when lori died after giving birth?? NO! There was a climax and they actually let the climax happen!! Dont even get me started on the fact that the writers keep trying to trick the audience.. Leaving something up to interpretation is one thing... but actually trying to make it look like someone died.. only to have it turn out they didnt (glen, daryl).. thats just stupid..

I still think it's Daryl or why else have the cliffhanger. If it was Glenn or someone else, why not show it as the last image of the season? Could you image how haunting an image of say a "lifeless" glenn facing the camera as the episode fades to black? It's clear that Daryl has the biggest and most vocal fan base of those on the chopping block. keep it under wraps, could keep that segment of the fan base still glue to the show (ya'll know how I feel about dixon's vixens) for a little while longer, especially once they announced Reedus new show on AMC premier date. It would ease the blow of reedus leaving the show if his fans know he will still be around with his show "Ridin' with Norman Reedus". So, my money is still on Daryl.
Watching Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan, makes me wish Jensen Ackles and/or Jared Padalecki would findd their way over to the TWD is some form.
