Have you looked at his stats at Butler? Played in about half their games.
Stats dont tell the whole story. That Butler team is led by seniors...He is patiently waiting his turn there...

I've given up completely on CMG. :mad2:

Alabama basketball will continue it's downward spiral until we get a new HC.

Tubbs, Steele, Hendrix and Pickett

With all of these highly rated freshman deciding to make it one and done, it bodes well for Bama fans as it looks more and more like Steele and Hendrix will play their final year at Bama. I think both can be and will be NBA players, but both should have a better shot and getting drafted higher next year, when the crop of underclassmen isn't so great. Now that Kevin Love, Darron Collison, Anthony Randolph, Eric Gordon, Jarred Bayless, Chase Budinger are coming out, it should push Richard and Ronald to the 2nd round. I think and hope they'll be back.

Another name to keep an eye on for the draft is Nicolas Batum, from France. I saw him play live last year in Memphis at the Nike Hoop Summit against OJ Mayo, Derrick Rose, Michael Beasley and all of the stud HS seniors from last year. He held his own with these guys and had one dunk over Nic Calethes you'd have to see to believe. Watch for him to declare soon and be a lottery selection.

Now that Tubbs has said he wants to go to UAB, where does everyone think Rico will go? I am personally a big fan of Pickett and truly wished he would stay. I think he can learn a lot from Ronald next year and become a true floor general once Steele graduates. I see him in an up tempo system like Missouri, but Mike Anderson may just have one more year there if he doesn't win now. I think RP flirted with Iowa State after committing to us last fall, but I don't know much about their program. Where else do you guys see him going? I could see FSU as an option or maybe South Alabama. They play fast and Rico could be very good in the Sun Belt.

If JT and RP leave and RS and RH come back, we should have one scholly left for next year. I think our roster would be PG-Steele, Torrance---SG-Hillman, Steele, Hollinger----SF-Gee, Mitchell----PF-Hendrix, Jemison, Knox----C-Green, Coleman for a total of 12. If J'Mison Morgan gets let out of his LOI at LSU due to the coach being fired, don't be surprised if he comes to Bama. A highly knowledgeable source told me his mom was wearing a Bama t-shirt the day he signed and someone made her put on an LSU shirt over ours after he signed. She loves our assistant coaches and there may be an issue about him not being old enough or some nonsense when he signed it. Hopefully LSU will grant his release and he'll find his way to T-town but I'm not holding my breath.:BigA:

Re: Tubbs, Steele, Hendrix and Pickett

Latest rip that touches on each player in question - http://alabama.scout.com/2/744646.html
Alabama star point guard Ronald Steele, who was out much of 2007 and all of 2008, officially announced his intention to explore the NBA. Meanwhile, at least one current Alabama men's basketball player--and possibly as many as three--intends to transfer.

Re: Tubbs, Steele, Hendrix and Pickett

I disagree that the draft crop next year will be less than what it is this year. All of the guys you mentioned -- Beasley, Love, Collison, Gordon, etc. -- will be replaced next by some some hotshot recruits who are looking to be one and done.

I'm not saying they should or should not come out, I just don't think that should be the basis used for making that decision.

I would love to see that happen, but being honest I don't think there is any way that could ever possibly happen. LSU isn't a charitable institution in the business of giving rival schools top-notch players just because they fired their coach.

It definitely sucks for Morgan, but that's part of the business. He wanted to be a Tiger, and he is going to be a Tiger or nothing else. He should have known the hot seat Brady was on, and also the poor state of the program when he committed. I'm afraid to say it, but that's just a mistake on his part. He voluntary boarded that sinking ship, and he's going to have to go under with it now that he is aboard.

And honestly, we're probably going to fire our coach in the next twelve months, too, so it's not like we are going to really be any different. If anything, we would be in the same boat, having him playing for a coach that did not recruit him.

Here's a list I collected from another site. I've added Pickett and Tubbs to our list. Added Hansbrough to MSU's. Added Bell to Vandy's. There could be a few mistakes here and there, but this is the list I could find the quickest for you.

Bottom line is that Alabama's "ongoing problem" is no different than the rest of the SEC's. So...is it a problem? I hope this list gives you a better view of the climate of college basketball.

Thanks for just adding my list you your players to leave since CMG has been there. I only went back to 2003. CMG started in 98 or 99. If you go back that far you can add at least Sam Haginas and Shea Cotton. Yous can really make your numbers say what you want when you have left off at least 4 years.

When I posted the list I stated that it wasn't absolutely accurate. It was a list I found because you demanded numbers quickly. I had a better list 2 years ago but cannot find it. By the way, Florida and Kentucky have had more transfers since CMG came to Alabama. You stated that such a fact was virtually impossible. Whoops.

The point is not the specific numbers. The greater point is that Alabama's number of transfers is equitable to other programs in the SEC. I have no desire to get into a peeing contest with you over the difference between one school having 2 more transfers over a 10 year period than another school. Surely, you can see that such a difference does not mean much. Wait, I'm asking too much from you...

You can admit it or not. There is a problem. Players have about as much respect for CMG as they had for Shula. Most of this probably has started with there home life and them being told how good they were. If you played in 5 games straight and then sat out 5 games you would get frustrated also. How much respect do you think there is for CMG when Gerald Wallace will not admit he went to school at Bama? Kenedy Winston. Rod Grizzard, and Mo Williams were projected as very late or second round picks and chose not to come back to school.

The problem is not transfers. I stand by that.

Good job changing the topic from transfers to respecting the coach. I am talking solely about Alabama's number of transfers compared to the rest of the SEC. I don't know how much respect the players have for CMG. I'm not in the locker room, and I'm not going to guess what other players have felt or thought about the coach.

Gerald didn't spend much time in school at UA. Ask his professors.

As for Winston, Grizzard, Williams, and Cotton's decisions to leave UA for professional basketball, that's a different topic than transfers. Yup, Cotton went pro. He didn't transfer. Another whoops.

Since you don't want to talk about transfers and instead bait and switch, I'm done with this topic. I have no desires to discuss the entire program. If I wanted to do that, I would've been more active on the board over the past few months.

You added them to your list. WHOOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hi pot I'm kettle.

This many people transfering out is a problem. I don't care if you wont admit it.

You are absolutely right. That list was not entirely accurate. Take those two off. I'll say it again. It's not the specifics of the list that matter in the transfer dicussion. It's the overall climate across the SEC. Alabama is just like other schools. You refuse to believe that fact. Continue grinding your ax...

You sure are putting a lot of faith in a player that averaged 10 minutes a game. I hope he can live up to the hype he has been given.

There is a problem. Look at the number of players that have transfered sine 2003.

Shawn Taylor
Akini Adkins
Glenn Miles
Al Weber
Verice Cloyd
Avery Jukes
Pico Pickett
Justin Tubbs

These are just a few that I can remember. At least 8 players since 2003. I'm sure you can come up with something negative to say about each one but none of them were give a chance.

And all of these previous guys have done soooo well since they left. Jukes actually played a little at Butler. The others...........
