I was just in the car listening to some sports talk show and they said that Thammel reported that the Boston College head coach who just left to become the DC at Green Bay specifically said that the main reason for leaving was because he wanted to get back to coaching football instead of spending all his time recruiting his own team, trying to get transfers and prevent his players from leaving and dealing with NIL.
Apparently he said that coaching in college football now involves very little actual coaching.
Pretty sad.
