Throw Stover the ball!!

Re: Throw him the ball

The article made a point that NS was a little out of shape, and I bet that is the main reason he hasn't been used too much. I really hope he and Oakley get a lot of PT this weekend. They are very solid receivers.

Re: Throw him the ball

jps1983, you are exactly right, I talked to his Dad this week and he said Nikiti knew playing his first year at Itawamba and then sitting out a year would be tough, but was shocked at how much of a difference it made.

Re: Throw him the ball

All of these guys need some playing time so that they won't pull a Marc Gullion and quit. That looks bad for future recruiting.

You can't use Gullion's situation to make such a blanket statement like that. And as far as it affecting recruiting, that doesn't hold much water either.

Re: Throw him the ball

Now the big question is why we have forgotten about the TE.... Wait, now I remember, we have to keep them in to help our RT :biggrin2:

That's the one thing I'm most dissappointed about, I think McCall & Walker are both good tight ends with pretty good hands. It sure would be good to see TE Screens, Slants, Drags, or even a straight go pattern!! PLEASE!!!

Is it a coincidence that the TE coach and the ST coach are one in the same? Guess it goes back to play calling...

actually more players than Gullion are/were disappointed with the amount of playing time. After the game when Spencer replaced Guillon in Shulas second year Spencer was asked How he could have thrown the interceptions her threw his reply was "I only took four snaps all week in practice and three of those were handoffs". More than a few of the backups are disappointed that the ones get about 95% of practice snaps and 98% of playing time.

That may be true, but that doesn't mean they're going to up and leave like Guillon did.

whats funny is that hoke has the best hands of the te's but he still hasnt had a chance to prove it.

Re: Throw him the ball

what about a pass to the halfback coming out of the backfield...is that possible to do like maybe more often to slow the rush...

We had a perfectly set up screen against Tennessee last week, but KD dropped the pass. But I guess that's how it goes.

Stover has to catch it when its thrown to him. I'm sensing Zeke II
Today was the first time I've seen him have trouble holding onto it. Based on his lack of playing time this season, maybe he's been having trouble in practice, but this was the first game I've seen him drop it when given the opportunity. On the flip side, this was the best game (4th quarter) I remember from Caddell.

The first pass to stover, no excuse he flat out dropped it, the one in the endzone the defensive back got his hand in and knocked it out.:BigA:
