I just read a message saying his operation was successful. There was enough cuff to repair and thinks he will be pleased with the results. His wife said the doctor was pleased. He will have a fairly lengthy rehab, eight weeks or so which will start Dec 1.

'Tis I...

that pic was taken in the UT prez's skybox at the Oct. 2000 UA/UT game, but I've cropped out the ugly orange. :) Of course, I look four years younger now... :D

Thanks MS...

Believe it or not, I can type with the affected hand. (Can't you tell my nastiness is at 100%, well 90%). :) I always get the drugs but then don't take them. My brain blocks out pain fairly well. I haven't had any pain meds yet, but I'll probably take one tonight...

TIDE-HSV: What a surprise to see you back on line so quickly! That's great news -- obviously everything went better than expected?

Take care, sit back, and enjoy your Thanksgiving tomorrow! Bet you'll be a light eater at someone's Thanksgiving dinner! :)

Bayou: Have you already landed in Mee-she-gun?

It did go well, thanks...

I opted out of the biceps tendon re-attachment, because the strength gain would only have been 2-3%. It would have removed the lump (rolled-up tendon), but the trade-off would have been a 4" scar. The infraspinatus was torn 3 cm out of a 5 cm total. If it tears all the way and you don't have repair, you lose the rotator cuff. This is what happened with my right shoulder...

It was only about a 3 hour car ride to Me-she-gun. We made it before lunch. The wife drove. Unlike TIDE-HSV, I take my drugs ;)

I was forced to retire...

from basketball three years ago, so I'm left with golf. I'm hoping to get back to that by mid-late April...
