I agree with RTR. Saban is going to do whatever it takes to minimize the news coming of Bama camp during the Tennessee week. I still think the news about Tua knee is weird... Pruitt knows what Tua/Jalen can do. This would be the week to try new things that will catch Pruitt off guard. Butch Jones will play a role in identifying tenancies on both sides of the ball.
In general, Saban is a straight shooter and has always been so about injuries. He could have concealed RD's playing time restriction but volunteered it. He said Tua is better this week than last as logic would suggest. If he is better, why would his playing time drop? UT is not less important than Mizz. IMO, unless there is a setback Tua plays his normal shift vs UT. Hooray.

He also is likely talking about the Tua situation at 4:20. There are some folks who are adamant that a procedure happenedâ€â€they've been all over the Interwebz todayâ€â€but the timeline doesn't seem to add up, unless he had it two weeks ago. All the speculation about the tweet also doesn't line up with what Coach said today.

Good catch, he is absolutely talking about Tua, or at least I don't know who else he would be referring to in that context.
This is where I'm at. I don't think CNS would lie and tell us he's better if he's not. If he was able to play last week and he's better I look for Tua to get his normal 2.5 quarters in with 3-4 tds and about 350-400 yards of passing. I think our OL will be extra motivated to keep the pocket clean for the needed 1.5 seconds Tua needs to go to check the progress of 4 or 5 receivers that could get the ball.
I don't get all the conspiracy theories. It's not like CNS is searching for a secret cheat to beat UT, so I just take him at his word.
I am interested in seeing the blitz package JP comes up with to try and get Tua moving. I would imagine ut would be focusing on getting pressure and testing the knee out early and often. Losing Kongbo will be a big deal for them this week I believe.
I'll tell you what, I'm still mad about the spot on the play that Tua slid on. The ball was 2 yards beyond the line to make when he began his slide! That was egregious!
And to top it off, I'm watching John Doe's breakdown this morning, and on the Henry Ruggs super fast TD on that got called back because D. Smith was holding... the Missouri DB had his hands and arms all up in Smith's facemask. Illegal hands to the face!
The refs just seem to get progressively worse. Alabama is so good we overcome them, but that doesn't excuse their ineptness.

I’d be willing to bet they blitz a lot....... and with their LB issues, it’s the perfect setup to blister them across the middle, and bring up an RB to pick up a defender
And there is a big difference between this week and last week versus Auburn. Tua has the poise to stand in there, make the quick read and find them. Stidham on Saturday flushed almost immediately and looked for a place to hide.
There will be plenty of that. I expect Pruitt to hit hard and early, especially on 3rd down. Goal for Bama offense is to stay ahead on downs, get off quick passes... Look for screen passes, slant passes, rub plays, etc in the middle of the field, etc. I wouldn't be surprised to see us trying to stretch their defense as much as we can. I think in another world, borrow Clemson's playbook against us that year they won championship. Now, I'm curious to see if we will see Jalen on field with Tua?
We've beaten UT something like 97-14 the last two years with Jalen and the talent discrepancy is wider this year than the last two. We're fine either way..
IIRC, ever since Mo came on board the SEC, before, during, and after every game Bama has faced them, there was always talk about how dirty MO plays. If that's the case, I say buy Mr. Davis a steak dinner, thank him for protecting and taking up for his teammates, let him rest the first quarter against the vile and loathsome Vols, and then turn him loose. I was furious when I saw the MO defender trying to twist our receiver's leg off. There's no more call for that than there is in what Raekwon did. Where is the outcry for that?

I look for the offense to try and wear them down to a frazzle......... however, if they get up 21+ points on UT, they can begin to eat the clock and punish them with the run....... then hit them with a quick strike...... keep them off balance and guessing
It's like the announcers said - the retaliator always gets the flag. That's what happened...
Not disagreeing with you but we did suplex one of there players one time when the game was all but decided. I Think it was the 2012 game.
