They finished the season undefeated and beat the only team that beat the two finalists. Nobody really believes they should be national champions, but they are a legitimately very good team and should be proud of the season they had. I have no problem with fans beating their chest a little.
I have no problem with them being proud, but claiming a NC is a joke. Might as well have an undefeated HS say the same thing.

You can't make this up. I guess after beating the Barn, UCF thinks they are the People's Champion!

The very definition of 'SNOWFLAKES'!

Next they'll crown their QB the real Heisman Trophy winner. They've become the laughing stock of college football and they don't even know it.

All of the media latching onto this farce are only doing it to troll Alabama. Because we didn't win our conference and oh hey UCF beat Auburn who beat Alabama and Georgia.

Problem is, UCF did not beat the Auburn team that beat Alabama and Georgia. Not even close. I guarantee you with every last cent to my name, which admittedly isn't much, UCF could not in 100 tries beat Auburn in Auburn this year. Period. They would get run out of the stadium 100 out of 100 times. Auburn played like horse manure the other day and still nearly beat UCF.

UCF people, and media mental deficients, I realize UCF has very little control over the fact that their schedule strength sucks. They can't magically play an SEC schedule, and they can't easily schedule a difficult non-conference schedule which would somewhat make up for the fact that they are in the AAC. BUT... the reality is they are still in the AAC and thus played a joke schedule. Life isn't fair.

So, go ahead and claim your national title. Folks in the media like the low IQ crowd at SB Nation, go ahead and troll right along. The real trophy gets handed out next Monday night.

UCF funds a lot of their athletics with student fees (their enrollment is almost 65,000) and donors; the American Conference doesn't get huge TV revenue to distribute to its members. If I was a student there (or a donor, for that matter), I'd be livid about the payment of national championship bonuses to coaches THAT ARE LEAVING. If it was a bonus for an undefeated season then, sure, pay it. But UCF is probably not profitable. The money will have to come from donors, students, and/or ticket revenue.

This begs the question...since aubrun beat both teams in the championship game, can they somehow now claim two additional national titles? Sorry, just trying to think using barner logic and it hurts my head to do so.
Oh, geez!

You just had to open the Pandora's Box, didn't you?

If they had actually played Georgia Tech (a game cancelled due to a hurricane) they would have lost and we would not have to listen to this nonsense.

I’m sorry but this is the most “everyone gets a participation trophy, snowflake, millennial” thing...ever.

Like seriously. Even their coaches are getting their “national championship” bonuses. I’m ashamed to be a human being right now.
