.....a DB with long hair? It seems to me that just about every team, college and pro, has a DB or 2 with long locks. It's like a fad now.

They may get to campus with long hair, but it won't last long. There is a tradition of incoming freshmen having their heads shaved by the upperclassmen that I've heard about around The Capstone.

Come on, do any of you guys believe that CMS would allow one of his players to represent THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA with that type of hairstyle??? He has way too much class for that! and the players that he recruits just do not seem the type to go for that.

That may be S.O.P. for other places but not at The University of Alablama!

ROLL TIDE!!!

"Can you imagine what coach Bryant would have done if a player showed up looking like a hippie"

It is very evident you did not follow the Tide in the late 60`s and early 70`s.
Coach Bryants team was filled with so called hippies who just happened to be great athletes along with their long hair.

Not a slap at you Jeff, just the way it was in those times. Terry Davis, our first wishbone QB for example. I really do not think coach Bryant liked it, but he changed with the times as most folks in that era did. Believe it or not, Coach Bryant was human.

I didn't take it as a slap. I just didn't know much 'bout football when I was 2 or 3 years old. Now at 4, I was calling plays when watching games on tv. :D

As for coach Bryant being only human, boy how I wish some Bama fans would get that through their heads!

Oh man, try and count the number of tatoos you see in a basketball game now. Times and fashion always change. Cornrows, dreds are in now. Afros and mulletts used to be in. Now afros and long hair are making a sort of comeback (if you watched the Minnesota - Nebraska game last night you know what I am talking about).
