I don't know what to think about the Qb battle anymore.
I don't either. I've flipped back and forth so much. Basically nothing would surprise me at this point.

Hopefully this weekends scrimmage will at least provide some sort of information that will at least eliminate some options

This Feels like the longest offseason I can remember. It feels like it has just dragged on and on.

Agree, but honestly, I didn't think I would until the MTSU game anyway. This feels very much like the 2014, 2015 and 2016 fall camps where the defenses were way ahead of the offense in camp and no one was really taking the job by the reins. Though we didn't win national titles in all those years, they were still very good seasons.

What's comical to me are the wide array of takes that I have seen/heard from various podcasts and people who portray themselves as knowledgeable. Not on this board, but in the vast Bama-talking-head universe that exists. At first I found it entertaining to listen to, but after some recent listens where people started getting a little extreme with pushing their second-hand narratives, it's feeling a little more unsavory to follow.

I don't care who wins the job, I just want whomever it is to not turn the ball over. Don't put the defense in a bad position and don't prevent the offense from taking advantage of its running game. We don't need a Tua, Mac or Bryce this year. I feel confident in that.

starting to think that Lonergan ends up transferring and makes us regret it
We will see. Lot left to figure out yet for this season and Dylan is a true frosh. Sayin is coming in next year so we will have at least 2 QBs transferring out in the next portal. Keep in mind that Lonergan is more the fan favorite due to the limited information we have. The coaches are committed to playing the best option and if he shows what they are looking for then he will get his shot.

This year was the 1st A-Day I attended in many years, but to me DL seemed to be the most composed. Mind you I'm not sure which defense (1-2-3 or mixture) he was playing against, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him getting more than significant rep's by mid-season. I wanna see what our offensive philosophy is actually gonna be but if we're finding ways to put the ball in the hands of the playmakers I think he'd be more than adequate in due time. Question is what is due time?

If Lonergan is making a move it will be confirmed after Saturday's scrimmage.

If he moves to #1, I just hope it's because he's really, really good and is just blowing up before the coaches' eyes, but NOT because everyone else just stinks around him.

Before someone says it, I guess it is possible for both of those things to be true.

I don't think anyone stinks on this team. Coaches are looking for the guy to lead the team and not turn the ball over. All three guys with the inside track have their strengths and weaknesses but they all have ball security problems. We can win with all of these guys but which one has it between the ears and keeps the offense on the field?

He must have seen a lot more live action than the rest of us to make that assessment. I mean, it could be true, but most of what we've seen has been DL against the 3's, where the coverage is softer and the throws are easier to make. DL has looked good - I thought the split field view of the open practice we got to see showed DL making some really, really good throws both in-stride and right out of breaks, but I'm not sure all those throws would have actually worked against the 1s or 2s.
