Yep - we were stupid, but we were also set up. You can say that we had to lack integrity to allow that to happen, but I would argue that the SEC lacked integrity when they warned every other SEC school away from Means except for us as they conspired with the NZAA to bring us down. The day that I learned this, I stopped being an SEC fan.

You are welcome to pull for (or against) whomever you wish, as am I...

I think you got the point. Conspiracy and the SEC is old, old, old news and
has't been proven. We got our foot in the muck and had to pull it out one lost scholarship at a time, but that is also old, old, old news. It is a new day and soon with a new coach. RTR

I attended the Sugar Bowl with Notre Dame and Bama. No, don't care for them. I think they get far to much press and prestige for far to little football.
Their embarrassing loss to USC this year makes that point. I am thrilled LSU gets a shot at them in the Sugar Bowl. I will also be pulling for LSU but I guess you will be pulling for Notre Dame.

I like both LSU and Notre Dame. I have very good friends from both schools. I'll probably be pulling for LSU. I like the way that Miles has that team playing. I think that Weis is one of the classiest college football coaches in the game today, but he needs a new defensive coordinator. Russell should have a huge game.

I asked about ND to see if you still ache over something that is much older than our sanctions. It appears that you do. Conspiracy theory or not, I believe that the SEC conference leadership helped set us up...
 
I will be rooting for the Gators.

You cannot compare the "ache" over Notre Dame with the sanctions. One is minor in the scheme of things the other almost destroyed us. I have memories of many things with many teams in the past. I will always loathe Tenn and Fulmer. I will always think Notre Dame is a big school with NE connections and little else, I will always think Ga Tech intentionally hurt Joe Willie. I told you I go back and like our dear elephant, I dont forget. I remember a hit Joey Jones took from Penn State and thought he was dead. I saw Cornelius Bennett give one I'll never forget. I remember Coach Bryant fighting for his honor with Wally Butts. BUT I don't believe the SEC wanted us under the death penalty. I do think Fulmer did. I still won't root for Ohio State or any other bunch of yankees against the Gators.
 
FLORIDA. I live in Gatorland and my neighbors are the best. We both dislike Auburn and Tennessee. We watch all the games together except when our teams play. We do this out of respect for each other. My neighbor has AU Tiger targets and we go to the Navy Shooting Range and light up the aubbie targets. I am having Laser Images print 50 orange tutorsee targets. Now when we go do our Familiarization Firing we can score a perfect 240 by nailing both teams equally. Roll Tide Roll
