It has been a strange season. I have watched large portions of all the SEC games, and several of the out of conference games, and trying to be as unbiased as I can, I think the record based on which team controlled the game should be closer to 5-2 in SEC games.
I feel like in the Texas game, Alabama was outplayed most of the game, so was fortunate to draw. In the UK game, Alabama may have controlled more of the game after going down by 2 goals early, but I also counted that game as in the "should have lost" category due to the early deficit.
I realize the "results are what they are", but in each of the other 5 games in which the record of the team was 1-0-4, I felt like Alabama controlled more of the games, so the 4 draws really "felt more like a loss."
The win against Texas A&M was big in that it kept the team in the hunt for at least an opportunity to play in the SEC tournament. The current RPI rating is 83rd, so at this point an invitation to the NCAA tournament would take quite a bit of work in the late part of the season.
One of the major disappointments of the season was dropping a game at Michigan (currently 2-11-2, RPI 144). At the time, it was Michigan's first win of the year, and in a "which team deserved to win" assessment, I think Michigan just outplayed the Tide ladies that day and deserved the win.
