Your Top 5

they did play au-- and won:eek2:

I know they did, but they played them early on. Right now AU is playing much better football and has played better competition. If they met right now USF would lose to AU. I'm also pretty sure WVU would beat USF if they played again too. USF is not a top 10 team in my book, I don't care if they beat one team that was playing awful at the time and took advantage of another team's injuries and poor center play. There are 10 teams that would defeat them on a neutral field right now at LEAST.

LSU -- Still the most talented team in America that lost, on the road, in triple overtime to a good UK team.
OU -- A solid team with a good D and an awesome freshman QB.
OSU -- Most will put them #1 due to them being undefeated and their position in the polls before this Saturday. They've played nobody, and won't play anyone for the remainder of the regular season. IF, they make it to the NC game, they will probably get more embarrassed this year than last.
So.Car. -- Spurrier has them playing in USC, it's really cool to see the turn around!
USF -- Beat WVU, play in crap conference. Cinderella story du jour.

I myself don't know who is top 5, but I can't buy into if that "if they played again they would loose" scenario. ESPN plays that game and I hate it. USF has beat every one they have played and they have beaten a number of ranked teams. I don't care who was injured or who wasn't playing well. It's football. That's part of the game.

Just my opinion:)

I agree

1. LSU - I still think the best team in the country. Auburn will beat them on Saturday, so I'll have to drop them then.
2. OU - Fell asleep in Colorado, but playing great ball.
3. S. Fla - Can't argue with success, beat Auburn and W. Va
4. USC - only one loss to a very good team
5. USC - only one loss to a very bad team

I refuse to put Ohio State in the top 5. Their schedule is a joke and their offensive and defensive rankings are built on the backs of teams that aspire to be cupcakes one day.

I'm disappointed that it seems so easy for people everywhere to stick OSU at number 1. Why? What have they done to deserve it? Much worse are the actual polls that have Ohio State #1 and Arizona State #12 Both are 7-0.

OSU has beaten:
Youngstown St
Akron
Washington
Northwestern
Minnesota
Purdue
Kent State

ASU has beaten:
San Jose St
Colorado
San Diego State
Oregon State
Stanford
Washington State
Washington

They have a common opponent: Washington. ASU beat them by more then OSU did.
#1 vs #12 ??? That's a farce.

My top 5:
1. South Florida
2. Arizona State
3. Boston College
4. Ohio State
5. LSU

Too funny. Take another look at OSU's schedule. BTW, it's obvious you have not watched much of USF or OSU. ;)

This is -- if one takes away the personal rancor -- a very good point. USF hasn't really faced a team with a very good defense that is playing well AND a team with a decent offense that is playing well.

WVU has the offense, but no defense at all. AU had no offense to speak of at the time and its defense was remarkably average.

USF has 2-3 more "real" games in its Big East schedule. My guess is that USF will lose one or more games to Cincinnati, Louisville, and/or Rutgers.

Not accounting for record but best five teams:

1) OSU - only undefeated team I will give props to, but very beatable!!

2) OU - well balanced team, great offense and defense.

3) LSU - as well all know on any given sat. in the sec anyone can get beat!

4) BC

5) USC(South Carolina) - steve spurrier what else can i say

1. USF - 2 quality wins
2. BC - 1 quality win, maybe
3. Ohio State - 0 quality wins
4. LSU - 1 loss in 3OT's to a top 10 team plus at least 2 quality wins
5. Oklahoma - 1 quality win (maybe if you consider Texas a quality win) & a bad loss
