This is just insanely hilarious for two reasons:

1. USC is desperate enough to hire this clown.

2. So many UT fans made fools of themselves falling all over this guy, defending his ignorant comments, and deluding themselves into thinking he was a great coach.

Nothing about this makes sense. Why did USC offer him? He was a laughing stock in the SEC, and after a mediocre 7-5 year at UT he's suddenly good enough to coach one of the top programs in the country?

Why did USC rush this? I understand wanting to keep recruits, but this is nuts. USC is loaded with talent, they could suffer an off year in recruiting and still be in contention for the next few years. The right coach would nullify a bad recruiting year. Besides, Caroll has proven great talent only gets you so far, you need someone to coach that talent.

Nothing about this makes sense.

Makes PERFECT sense. Seriously.
There's no pressure now. If they lose, it's because of the sanctions, negative publicity, etc. He's got an easy out, and no longer has to compete with Saban, Meyer (if he survives the summer) Georgia, LSU, etc. He knew he was under water here.
