Chances of Making the Tournament

Win tomorow and we're almost certainly in. Lose and its a committee decision. I would hate to leave out fate up to bunch of eggheads in a room in Indy. How we look tomorrow may be as important as wining. We failed the eye test the 1st time. Maybe we won't this time.

Now we've got 13 wins in the conference and are 5-2 versus the SEC East. I would say we're in no matter what happens tomorrow.

Sure. As a basketball fan who doesn't? What will he have us tomorrow if we lose to Kentucky? All he is doing is guessing. Hell I can do that and be accurate within the 90 percentile. I do understand that the SEC in basketball suffers like the Big East does in football from perception. But I am happy either way for our guys. Anthony Grant should win SEC coach of the year in many peoples opinion but unless we win the SEC championship we are a long shot to make the tourney. Right now!

I'm not saying that because I believe we shouldn't be in. I think we should be in already. But the experts will not put us in even if we beat Kentucky tomorrow. Don't believe it check out Lunardi and Palms predictions. To them we are only in if we win the SEC tourney. Hell, who couldn't predict that scenario?

I believe the SEC will get at least 5 teams in. We have beat Georgia now twice in the last 6 days and are 2-0 against them, so we go in ahead of them. If we don't make it only 4 SEC teams get in. I just don't see that happening.

Don't believe we have win the tourney, but I'm leaning toward us having to beat UK to be a lock.

I think it's safe to say that AT WORST, Bama is #4 in the SEC, and we very nearly beat RPI 27th-ranked East #3 in our only meeting on their own court. It will be a crime if more than 3 SEC teams make the tournament and Bama doesn't. Four are already in. I believe Bama is as well, no matter what happens tomorrow.

Joe Lunardi just moved us to the first team out. WTC He moved Penn State and USC in ahead of us. This will be the biggest load of crap if we do not get an NCAA bid. Jerry Palm...who is the biggest nerd I have ever seen covering sports...... doesn't even have us in his first 4 out. We just need to go out out and win these next two games and force them to put us in the tourney.

USC lost to Arizona. There is no way he put them in ahead of us.

He put them in and moved Penn st. in all because of their ugly, ugly win, I guess it is a win, and has us as the first team out. One thing to remember Lunardi isn't on the committee. I think we have done enough.

What I don't get is why USC has all of a sudden done enough to get in. They have 14 losses. Sure they have won like 6 of 9, but we have won like 16 of our last 20. Why do they get credit for it and we don't. RPI=CRAP!

BTW I still think we have done enough, but unfortunately I am not on the selection committe.

I understand that the latest standards followed by the committee no longer weight late season more heavily than early, which obviously hurts us badly. Since the tournament will be played at the end of the season, it just makes no sense...
