Well a poster on TI, who's right a lot more often than he's wrong, says Carter could get reinstated Friday or Monday. I guess we'll let the rumor mill go on a little longer...
Got that information yesterday. Was wondering the validity.

Everything I've learned from every source indicate that this will be a one and done deal. I just don't think his heart is in the academic side of "student-athlete." He seems to be holding it together for this year, but another year - I just don't know...He has the prototypical body for the position. Tall, fast, low body fat, strong with long legs but a good sized and compact upper body. His has great flex in his hips where he can do anything he wants with his legs and make very fluid and strong moves.
If he plays a year or two and stays healthy, he gets drafted. Our other receivers have the potential, but Duron is a cut above right now and would be a huge addition to our offense.
I guess that is the reason that Coach Saban has taken the Drama the he hates. The upside is tremedious and you are correct, he is a Julio type. A prototypical 21st century NFL WR.

Ah Man, I forgot about the logic and reason rule......LOL......I apoligize Tidefans brothers/sisters....complain away about DC threads, my mouth will stay closed....LOL:biggrin:
On a serious note, I hope he gets his priorities straight and he makes the team....we could use him....best of luck DC, it's up to you to choose the narrow path or the wide path....individual decision!![]()

That's scary from a bowl elibility point of view. I'd hate to rely on him all season and then have him vaporize come bowl season because he couldn't keep his grades in order for more than a semester.
There have got to be a few basket weaving classes for him.
There have got to be a few basket weaving classes for him. I'm sure the football program has enough football player friendly courses to get him through one semester.

Cris (not "Chris")All he needs is a year, right? If eligible right now he is a 6th rounder. An average year at Bama but showing progress moves him to the 4th round. A 1000 yard season moves him to the 2nd. He could have a spectacular year but I bet we spread the ball around and it's going to be tough playing like a 1st rounder in your second year of playing and 1st against SEC DB's.
For all the pay the players crowd, Duron Carter will get a lot more out of this deal than Alabama will. We get a one and done very good player, he gets the equivalent of an Ivy League education in football. One year of credentials that could set you up for life.
I hope it works out for everyone. I bet Chris Carter will be thanking Coach Saban after the season for keeping Duron on track.
Cris (not "Chris"), has taken a leave of absence from ESPN for full-time duty, to come to T-Town and help Duron through. Probably good news...
I don't think I'd worry about harsh criticism of DC at this point. It's up to him to earn it - whether it takes dad to hold his hand or not. Sooner or later, he'll will be without dad's presence...Reflections of immaturity on DC's part, you think? Don't know for sure, but seems like he needs to stand up on his own two feet, instead of depending on Pop to stay close and keep him straight. Could be wrong, though - certainly wouldn't be the first (or last) time. (Mods - delete if this sounds overly critical).

No other way to look at it. He is too busy to be down here to pack the bags. Maybe the instant gratification of spring practice has motivated Duron knowing the season, and his future is right around the corner.
If coach Saban has kept him this long, Cecil Tweeted good news, and Cris is in town, I would have to believe the odds are very high now that he is going to play next year.
I am bad with names Earle. I still get Sims and Simms mixed up even after looking it up a thousand times. But I think I can remember Cris. It's like da band Cris Cross, everybody gonna jump.
