It looks like Pitt will likely get both Webb and Boyd at WR so my fellas aren't ready to jump off the bridge just yet if they don't grab RF but for sure they're not the confident bunch they were a month ago.
3 months ago I'd have been very surprised if he committed to Alabama...now I'm not sure what to think. These guys know their stuff and had Chapman and Johnson pinned to Pitt (and both verballed) along with Boyd and Webb. They're saying Foster is a Tide lean now fwiw though i still think he stays home when it's all said and done. This could be a TJ Yeldon or CyKo deal if he grabs a red hat with more than a month before LOI day
up until last tue or wed all my contacts thought he was a Pitt lock. no idea what happened last week but they're all real worried now. No idea if it had to do with the Bama staff being up this way or not but I know CNS never used his in-home visit. Pitt's WR coach, Engram, has been giving the kid a ton of love but not sure it's going to be enough. Two even considered him an Alabama lean when none of them ever thought anything but Pitt for the past year.

That's a shame, but I'm sure he's a take at pretty much any college in the country. Unless he doesn't have his fifth star on any recruiting site, in which case CLK hasn't heard of him.

Well, like with big recruiting decisions around here where people thought he was a Bama lock from the outset, doubt always creeps up near the end. If he was thought a Pitt lock for all this time...I'd go with that. Hope we land him though.

Thanks, PA! I really feel that Alabama has been Robert's favorite for a while now, but the decision to move a good ways from home is a difficult one. Some people can handle it and some can't. I think at this point it could go either way.

by offering Nate Andrews today (according to twitter) does this impact Foster at all? I remember an article from 3-4 months ago when Andrews said he's willing to leave the state as long as he could stay a WR (and not a DB). No offer until this morning just a few days before Foster's announcement seems to be more than coincidental, no? Unless, of course, he's decided he'd rather be a CB with the Tide than a WR with the Gophers...
or was he just THAT good in the practices and Miss/Bama game that the Tide felt they had to make a move on him?

It's possible that the late offer to Andrews was based solely on his all-star game performance, but I tend to think it is likely more related to the staff reading the tea leaves on Robert Foster and wanting to have a back-up plan.

My guess is it has more to do with Vonn Bell shopping around. He was supposed to commit and then opted to take visits.

If Foster bails, likely Massington will be offered up a scholly. It may be that CNS sees Nate on the defense in which case it may have been a response to Bell shopping. Massington is to announce Sat. I think which is the day after Foster's announcement.

I am beginning to think, and hope, that he called the staff early and gave them his commitment. Just the more time I have had to think about the Massington deal, I believe he (EM) pulled the trigger on UCLA because the staff told him he wouldn't didn't have a definite spot. Maybe it is wishful thinking, but my gut is just starting to feel good about this one...

I understand the pull of home. But at Foster's talent level, it should be a business decision. If he and his parents look at it that way, it's an Alabama lock.
But these decisions aren't always that coldly calculated. So who knows what he's going to do? I sure don't.
I hope Robert Foster comes to Tuscaloosa, and wish him nothing but the best, wherever he chooses to play college ball. But we won without him before, and we'll win in the future regardless of his choice.

Are you thinking of Reuben Foster? Robert is a WR/ returner all the way. I'd bet the farm Reuben is not a part of our class. Robert seems to be a better bet, but we still face stiff,competition in Pitt.

Not sure there is really a firm time, but 1:30 has been floating around several places. Don't know if that is Eastern or Central, though.
