Re: New Discussion Thread on Possible Coaching Changes...

Actually, my information is that Sexton is not really behind this. All the smoke is being generated by the UT side...
That may be, but you really don't think he won't parlay this into a bog payday, for all of his clients. Once Bevo offers an insane amount of money, we counter with an even more insane amount. The ripple effect reverberates throughout college and pro coaching ranks.

X% of any of his client's contract winds up in his pocket. Looks like he has mighty big pockets, so there is a lot of empty room he wants to fill up. He is probably loving every second of this.

Re: New Discussion Thread on Possible Coaching Changes...

Truth is, we REALLY don't know exactly what has transpired. We've heard about contracts sitting on desks for days, $100 million over 10 years offered by Texas and all kinds of garbage.

My feeling is, they've got an awful lot of big blow-hard liars out in Texas, and everyone who ever thought they had anything to do with UT has a big fat story to tell and want everyone to think they're in the know. I've never seen anything like it. When this is all over, even if he stays at Bama, I'll STILL have new reasons to hate Texas.
You know, they are just trying to land the best head coach in the country. I understand. Social media has made the rest possible - heck, probable. Anyone can say anything today and it spreads across the globe in seconds.

Herb put that out yesterday, while talking to the local EPSN radio knuckleheads. They said they have never heard him to be more certain of anything.

And in the next hour.....................the next group of knuckleheads is still going on about how much better Austin is to live in................

"All the things to do.....................blah, blah..........etc."

Same Weather Channel, anywhere in the country.

Re: New Discussion Thread on Possible Coaching Changes...

I meant last Friday - last Monday; if that is what you mean, then my next observation would be to say he hasn't had time to even look at a contract (one was supposedly on his desk last Friday), much less sign one. I am sure glad he doesn't bother to read stuff like what's going around, he'd probably retire tomorrow....
Do you think Miss Terry or his daughter are reading this stuff?

Earle...please give me latitude...IQ and knowledge supercedes (supersedes if you like) post count...
Um, not sure what you mean. Do I exceed you in post count only or both count and IQ? I don't think you really want an IQ duel with me...

Maybe trying to get off the hotseat. It remains that he really knows more at this point than just about anybody else about Saban's private thoughts. That's turned out to be a very uncomfortable position...

Based on the tweet, Phil's pretty definitive this time.

Back when I was a kid, Coach Bryant was at Alabama. You only heard what went on at UA on the 6:00 and 10:00 news, and even THEN you heard it only if you went outside and turned the antenna just right to get one of the 3 channels out of Huntsville to come in clearly enough. Sometimes I think those days were better...

Not disagreeing w you, Tidetwin, however, something tells me that - as is the case w members of the media - if mortality is staring CNS in the face, then CNS is sure to stare it down, and mortality will blink first... ;)

Almost seems like Phil said a little too much and knew it was best to continue rather than try and backtrack.

I think he's trying to point out that his IQ isn't 7.
LOL! I'm sure you're right. I took his post as a spoof, anyway. Actually, I've been told that Saban told JS to back off, that he'd overreached on a figure. I'm not really all that concerned about a salary figure. They're not going to go crazy and neither are we. However, the debt relief question is something altogether different. IF (big "IF"), Saban should move, I think that could be the deciding factor. It's got big tax implications, but they have boosters standing in rows who could totally bail the Sabans out of their sour investments...

I doubt Ms. Terry does....don't know about the daughter. I know nothing about her at all.
Why would Ms. Terry read this, or BOL, or Tider Insider, or any of the other forums online? Anything is possible, but it makes no sense to me, especially knowing how much CNS cares about all of it.

I had to do the same to get the B'ham stations. "Those were the days." Sounds like a familiar song.

I'll look back at the tweet. I just glanced and I thought he was just quoting Kirk's interview...
