In 1999 (I think) Shawn King was the starting QB for the Buccaneers. He was so limited that they essentially made every passing play only to one side of the field and if there wasn't an open read, he ran for whatever he could get. The Bucs made it all the way to the NFC title game, where they lost to the Rams. They did this by scoring a little, hardly turning over the ball, and riding a great defense.
I think we did sort of the same thing with Jalen Hurts early on.
Can this work with Milroe in today's game?
I'm not sure (actually doubtful), but it may make more sense than asking him to run an offense he clearly can't run.
I'm even more confused today than I was yesterday.
