Jalen Milroe is now the starter going forward.

What happens when Jalen throws for 250 yards with 3 tds, and rushed for 80 yards.... and OL is agressive and blocking much better this saturday? We're still doomed? We're screwed? The point is that we're operating on week to week basis and we just need to pray that Milroe can progress better each week, the more he plays. I think knowing he's the starter going forward should ease his anxiety ....... yeah I said it. I think he'll be okay.
I have a heart attack and miss the rest of the season.

All this is correct.

I'd go further into detail, but again it cant be proven, there isnt a source, so its best not to post it.

Situation REEKS.
Team got its wish-- hope we see a different team out there Saturday.

Prediction. Long Long season. Starting Saturday
Don't do that... COlbysullivan will claim you got it from secrant board.

But seriously, I don't know what's going on, but if the team forced Saban's hand, then it's bad situation all around, but maybe it's for best. maybe not. Just hope for best.

What happens if he turns the ball over multiple times again…again?

In 1999 (I think) Shawn King was the starting QB for the Buccaneers. He was so limited that they essentially made every passing play only to one side of the field and if there wasn't an open read, he ran for whatever he could get. The Bucs made it all the way to the NFC title game, where they lost to the Rams. They did this by scoring a little, hardly turning over the ball, and riding a great defense.

I think we did sort of the same thing with Jalen Hurts early on.

Can this work with Milroe in today's game?

I'm not sure (actually doubtful), but it may make more sense than asking him to run an offense he clearly can't run.

I'm even more confused today than I was yesterday.

The college game today and NFL football in 1999 are two different animals.

I wasn’t referring to his feelings per se. He was asked to win a game on the road on a likely still wet field, and he did. The fact that he continues to get placed on the back burner in favor of a running back just sucks.
Man I dig it. But we do not know the situation, at all. At some point we have to trust what the coaches are doing. No one wants any of these guys to succeed more than the coaches that recruited them.

Still be screwed because the conspiracy theories would be right: the inmates would be running the asylum and the greatest coach in college football history would be reduced to nothing but an interview.

Oh I'm definetly hoping for the best.

The one thing that i hope comes out of it, is the team rallies around Milroe.

Guess saban is thinking and hoping the team rallying together is the most important thing. And if we can get by while our QB is not performing at a winning level.. then maybe he'll improve

As opposed to not being together and giving a kid who can actually play QB a shot to win games.

One thing is clear. The team isnt together. Thats been said multiple times.

Designed runs. Roll him out and allow him to improvise.

No long developing plays with 5 routes to read.

Well timed deep throws with max protect.

Basically, the opposite of what we've run so far this year. I heard someone this morning, Travis Reier or maybe it was Ryan Fowler, say he was still waiting to see the offense Notre Dame was running at the end of the year last year. What we've been running looks an awful lot like the past 2 years under BoB.
I don't know offensive details well enough to get in a super detailed discussion. But if Milroe was my QB I would do some QB powers and not just basic QB draws, more rolling out and moving the pocket so he only has to read half the field at times, and more one read type plays where he doesn't have to think and can throw it or take off. Probably some jet sweep type stuff and quick throws as well. Anything to reduce the mental burden and emphasis his physical gifts.

I'm not saying this would fix everything (it wouldn't he's an imperfect QB) but I do think it would fit him better than dropping straight back in a pocket.
improvising is how we get OL way down field when the QB passes because they are honestly expecting him to run. If there is no designed play, the other 10 guys just have to try their best and hope.

Executing what ND ran requires reading coverages and hitting a lot of shorter routes, with a lot of timing and throwing into windows instead of to an 'open' WR. There have been a lot of things called where these routes and spots were very open, so the OC has been trying to get those concepts into play. Milroe hasn't yet demonstrated the ability to execute these plays. They've been there, he's just not pulling the trigger for whatever reason.

His worst INT against UTw was a one receiver route on each side with one possible read. he threw the ball way too late, and never seemed to look at the player he should have been reading.

Reading half the field is essentially what the RPO (those are also designed runs) concepts are that Milroe was running. We've already tried that. UTw decided to play it so that Milroe would read keep instead of RB handoff, then when we'd hope that we would be forcing the D to play either the Milroe run or pass and they pretty much just played the run and it worked.

Those quick throws also require a lot of timing and accuracy and, as stated, that's a skill we have yet to see Milroe demonstrate; and he's had the chances.

I'll gladly eat my words. I'd rather win than be right. That said, I have zero confidence in Milroe. He's already burned us a few times.

Is “conspiracy theories” the right term? We know Milroe was benched. We know the players held a meeting. Now magically Milroe is the starter again. You can’t blame people for being confused.

It would make a ton more sense if JM WAS suspended as to why he didn't play Sat.! But if he was not suspended how do you go from #3 to #1 without even playing a down?

And if he WAS suspended for the reasons some are stating, how he he suddenly a team leader again?

And I still don't know why CNS offers Kiffin the knowledge JM is now the starter???

I mean, something seems curious with this whole series of events. And it's so opposite to how CNS normally handles things.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but some of this isn't adding up IMO!
None of us know exactly what is happening here but remember when there was a QB controversy between Tua and Jalen Hurts. Hurts was playing but the players had confidence in Tua and stories were circulating there was a near mutiny in the locker room. The difference back then however was the fan base and even OC Brian Daboll felt Tua was the better choice. Here it seems the players support Milroe along with some in the media. I can't say this was a near mutiny situation but JessN who has a good idea about whats best for Alabama football was convinced that Simpson was in the driver's seat.

Same, I said I’m pulling for the team no matter who but I’m not going to be confident at any point with him throwing the ball.

If indeed the players only meeting led Saban to make this announcement then i think that this will be his last year...final straw...NIL/transfers has ruined what you can build in a program...and then to face empowered players making team selection decisions would be the tipping point...
