CNS said TAMU was in his presser yesterday. Just quoting Coach.
I think he has to say that.
I don't think A&M is better than Texas right now. I don't think it's that close either.

i think the idea that this is what happened is patently absurd and is based on a bunch of armchair coaches making up stuff and that made up stuff becoming "fact"
I think he has to say that.

Agreed it's coach speak, but I think he also knows "talent" wise they are in the same category. FWIW, I'd take Sark over Jimbo every day of the week and twice on Sundays. He'll also talk up Chattanooga, typical CNS.
YES! Get Milroe deep in the pocket with a straight drop. Forget the RPO reads, which slow him down and give more time for the rush to get to him. Give him a primary read and one "hot" route (if primary is a long ball) and tell him if it's not there to run it straight up the middle - north and south! For any QB, but especially one who’s developing (i.e., not a finished product), the OL has to help him. Milroe has got precious little help from the OL early.
The USF game was a monumental dumpster fire caused by a train wreck, circled by a clown car for the OL. Milroe didn’t play that game, but the OL has gotten marginally better since then. Baby steps, I know.
The OL will have to play its best game of the season in College Station for us to have a chance. If Milroe is running for his life most of the time, and the OL can’t give him any reason to believe, we have a problem. And yes, aTm has some really good pass rushers.
I expect aTm to send an all-out rush every down, with coverage responsibilities ignored. It has the potential to rattle both the OL and Milroe, and to blow up running plays, turning them into TFLs.
It also has the possibility of backfiring if Milroe can make them pay. Which will be a function of the OL giving him time for just one hot read, and Milroe building on some recent improvement in his short passing accuracy.
Whether they can do that is the question that decides the game.
I think he also said that about MSU last week, except for Texas. He'll also talk up Chattanooga, typical CNS.
I mean, A&M may have more talent at certain positions than Texas. I think their front 7 is fantastic. They've got some great athletes at WR and RB.Agreed it's coach speak, but I think he also knows "talent" wise they are in the same category. IMO, Sark could take his and beat Jimbo's OR take Jimbo's and beat his.

It was NOT just based on 'armchair coaches making up stuff NOR guys just looking for clicks. Some of those guys might have said it, but they were not the only source.
There's someone on this board who has some connections close to the program who was told this in fact did happen the week of USF.
I can't say for sure I know it happened (although I trust what I was told), but unless you have some deep connections saying otherwise how can you so you KNOW it is "patently absurd?"
Not trying to spar with you over this, but just that it seems only fair to say it's not totally based on what you say it is.
I think Bama will find it just as tough to run the ball on ATM as they did on sexat.I don't think A&M is better than Texas right now. I don't think it's that close either.
I think Bama will find it just as tough to run the ball on ATM as they did on sexat.
Can this OL step up and create lanes against ATM's talented (and deep) front? Yes, but they'll have to play better and more consistently than they have so far in 2023...
Texas is the best team we’ve faced so far and probably the best we will see all season outside maybe the post-season.
Oh I agree. I don't mean to say how they compare to Texas means anything about our game with them.I think Bama will find it just as tough to run the ball on ATM as they did on sexat.

They don’t even have to be the best team we’ve faced. They just have to match up with us favorably (for them).Philosophical but ultimately maddingly true.
There's an opportunity for the narrative to change this Saturday and we hope it does with a "W" at KF.
But confidence is based on past performance. It's hard to feel confident right now IF A&M is the best team we will face up to this point.
And so far in 2023, they do. ATM's weakness is their secondary, which Bama hasn't shown the ability to take advantage of in 2023. And their defensive strength is the DL and LB - they're really good against the run. They don’t even have to be the best team we’ve faced. They just have to match up with us favorably (for them).

It's not a good matchup for Bama from what we've seen so far in 2023.
This year more so than any in the recent past, it's not how we win or if it's pretty or ugly...just win.I think the script for us winning is a very ugly and low scoring game. Even a win won't be truly fun to watch.
