Bama Game Thread: Official Postgame Thread - Bama@TAMU...

Don't forget that several of those 'penalties' were BS calls. THAT matters. That ridiculous 'blindside block'? Took a TD off the board. How about that 'Roughing the Passer' call?? Worst by far since the Tenn game. Hey SEC....where did you get these guys??😠
Just finished dinner and thought I would stop by and see how the Post Game Thread was progressing. Great win.

Cliff Notes from Saban’s Post Game Presser

Also finally got to watch the game:
Studs of the Game:

O- Burton and Bond. That sounds like an injury law firm doesn’t it?

D- the DLs. They owned the game

ST- Reichard. That kid can do it all.

I think the NFL only carries 1 PK and 1 Punter on their active roster, but WR might have just made himself a little more money yesterday showing he could do both if needed. He's going to the league as a PK but man, I was impressed with his ability to step in at punter and us not miss a beat!

I was showing my son exactly that when watching the replay. There are guys open all over the place. With as bad as the OL is playing at times it really difficult to say it’s just JM not seeing them or “he can’t read defenses”. He’s making progress. His one TD to Burton was his 3rd read. I know there are teams out there praying that the light for JM and the OL don’t come on at the same time because they will be a nightmare.
This was his best game by far, but he still hasn’t learned how to fully play the position. Why…in…the…world…did he throw that pass to Benson at the end of the game? All we had to do was take a knee 3 times. What was he thinking? That could have been a disaster. I’m just tired of the rollercoaster ride, from the whole team really.

I thought it was interesting looking at the game stats from yesterday. Literally an “even” game. About the same in total yards. They had few more rushing. We had a few more passing. TOP was almost identical. Third down conversion (4/12) was the same for both.

The two glaring areas were penalties (14-99) Bama to (4-19) TAMU and Bama with two turnovers to TAMU with one. We know one of these penalties brought back a blocked FG TD (our 7th TD brought back due to penalties this year) and another (roughing the passer) extended a drive where TAMU score a TD. Both of those at least questionable.

Our pre-snap penalties were drive killers. We play an even halfway better “disciplined game”, this thing isn’t even close. We spent most of the day playing TAMU “into the game” and not “out of it”.

Serious question about the penalties: HOW DO THEY GET FIXED? It has been happening 2 years now, especially on the O line. And, they seem to happen at bad times during the game. I know 1 or 2 were not legit, but most were. I don't know what they are doing in practice to try to fix it but it isn't working, at least for away games. I think they only practice "loud noise" situations on Thursday's. Maybe they should practice it 2 days or more per week for the next 2 away games?
I think our O'line is bigger than they are quick, so they really try to get as much of a jump on their defender as they can. I think the'll get better.

I'll not confuse you with Gray Tide. ;)
