Mac is probably done at New England (Pats-Colts aftermath)

Belichick has 12 losses this year and his replacement for Mac threw 3 picks today. At some point someone needs to ask Kraft “ do you want empty home games or for Belichick to break the win record as a patriot in another 5-6 years”.

Oh and Bill O’Brien is only a slight upgrade as an OC to Patricia.

I doubt Todd Monkin could do much with their roster.

The game has passed Belichick by.

The pro game and the college game are so different. But consider, Belichick won all of his titles with one QB. Nick Saban has won 7 titles with 6 QBs, and played for 2 more with two other QBs.
And several of those titles were first year QB's.

I remember the main reason Saban said he left the Dolphins was the lack of control he had in selecting personnel. I'm not sure how much control Belichick has, but the Pats have always been a nickel and dime outfit. They were fortunate to get some mid-late career guys who could really play to go with Brady and a few great defensive players to fit in their payroll.

He has TOTAL control. He’s the GM too. Let’s be honest here….Tom Brady covered up his mediocrity. Never did anything out of this world before or since Brady. Brady won another ring. Nuff said.

I get it. But it was more than just Brady. It takes the whole package. Brady had way better players around him on both side of the ball than they have now, with innovative coaching on both sides. Not any more. Drop 30 year old Brady in on this team and they might have a couple more wins. Belichick has slipped a lot in the last several years due to age. He has not evolved and the team has slipped.

Mac Jones is done in NE and I hope he learned sone lessons from his experiences there that help him become a starter in the league. NE unfortunately didn't put any talent around him but Mac also didn't do himself any favors by how he handled adversity and rough times. He now has a reputation (around the league) to repair and hope he gets another shot on a roster.

His dirty play is a real problem. My wife has no sympathy for his plight because of his behavior.

Dude…they were a Dynasty…hate if you want, but come on, nickel & dime.

I give Brady his full due, he filled gaps of talent with his greatness. However, I'm not sure dynasties are won with one great player and the rest are below average.

They needed each other. If Brady was a Cleveland Brown, he is merely a footnote like everyone that went to Cleveland during that time. Belechick would have been just another coach and probably bounced around the league.

I want to know more details on this? How can you be a dirty player at QB? Maybe sliding with cleats up. Im not sure I buy all this talk because i havent seen evidence of it on the field.

Look around the league at all the retreads who are still playing.

Even if Mac plays somewhere next year as the #2, he's still got a good chance to land a starting role in the next few years.

Hate? No hate here. I've always been a Pat's fan and a Belichick fan. By "nickel and dime" I mean the organization has a reputation for not spending the money that dates back to John Hannah. Ask him about it. Different people involved now, but similar mindset. Brady and others had to take pay cuts to keep players around. Belichick and others did a good job finding tweener guys who could play or had some age on them, to go with some stars. They lost the ability to assemble a complete team in recent years though.

Well, other NFL players think he is dirty. I have personally seen him purposely trip a player, spike a player and kick a player in the groin.
