Bama Game Thread: Official Postgame Thread - Bama vs. Michigan...

In his post-game presser, CNS said that it was a design QB run, not an RPO. He said it didn't work because "we didn't get it blocked."

As I saw it, Latham was pushed back and they collided. Milroe lost his balance and went down. Proctor though... he had his man beat and walked into the end zone. If Milroe stays upright, he follows Proctor in, maybe. But he didn't, so he didn't, and that's that.

My biggest disappointment was after all the talk for a month, all the LANK nonsense, it amounted to nothing. I expect more from a Saban team with a month to prepare. They looked slow, confused and unprepared all night long, on both sides of the ball. It was like week 2 and 3 all over again.

I just expected more from this team. They talked the talked but forgot to walk the walk. The team that beat Ole Miss, Tenn, LSU and UGA would have beaten this UM team. But we got Texas and USF effort tonight.

A pass to #5 to the left would have scored easily at the end. The 2 WRs were single covered and came off the line to block their guy. The LB had no chance to catch Roydell. But good grief it never should have come to that. Cover the RB on the 4th down play, and it would have been ballgame. Or don't fumble. Don't have the bad snaps, and for goodness sake see the blitz coming and check off. Fill in the blank.

We really overachieved this year, with nice wins over some teams that probably should have beaten us, including all are rivals. So congrats to the team for getting this far!

I don't disagree with not getting the best version of Bama, but Michigan is also just really good.

This is exactly how I feel. I had way more fun during the crazy Covid season than this year. College football has changed too much, and it will no longer be the same. There will be multiple 3-loss teams in the playoffs from now on, and it’s just not right. This might be the beginning of the end for me.
As insane as the 2020 season was (Bama's national championship notwithstanding)all the postponements, flat out cancellations, talk of playing the season in the spring, etc, in retrospect, it actually seems ok. I haven't truly enjoyed a college football season since 2020. And with what's on the horizon, I'm afraid 2021-2023 will seem like the good old days

Don’t mention the “LANK” non-sense…we’ve got some fragile posters on here getting offended when you bring up how stupid that is..

Alright one more thing. I think Michigan loses next week. Could be wrong but I truly think they lose to Texas or Washington

Some of you all are too negative for me. Milroe isn't perfect but if we have a center who can snap the ball we probably win that game before OT

I don't think it's negative to say this LANK team is a brand of football I don't enjoy. 2 steps forward and one step back. HIt or miss. Good half/bad half. Great run and then get sacked for 10 yard loss. Great long pass but can't hit a 7 yarder. It's just so frustrating and frankly with next years toughen schedule I don't think it'll work an better than this year.

I completely agree. Milroe is a good QB, but he is far from a great QB. Granted, he is very good at running the ball, but struggles with passing. I wish his ability to read defenses and pass selection was better, but I always believe the great QBs are born with that God given talent. There is a limit to what a QB can learn in that part of the game. Granted, our offensive line also is not where it needs to be. This is just my opinion, for what it is worth, but I don't believe we will win another national championship with Milroe at QB.

And honestly, he's not even good with the RPO part. He can't read the end worth nothing. And when he's running sideways he's really not fast at all. And to be the size athlete he is, he's pretty easy to tackle in the open field.

He can do one thing better than almost anybody: run straight ahead!

That’s legit a horrible play call, if indeed a non-RPO, designed QB run up the middle from 5 yards out..

Look to the left of the line, there’s plenty of space to score.

receivers wide and blocking, Roydell swings wide and gets people looking that way, all he has to do is go left, plant his foot, and score.

This inconsistent play happened all year. A team cannot sustain that style of play and not expect it to come back and bite them at some point. It bit us against Texas then again tonight. Championships teams don't have that pattern of play.

What play did they actually make? I mean most of their dynamic plays you can see our secondary and linebackers screaming at each other about being out of place.
Frankly, that's being outcoached. Along with better discipline. Herbie mentioned that UM was showing new looks and doing things they had not done in the regular season.

It's ok to admit that Michigan was just a step better tonight. It happens.
