Bama Game Thread: Official Postgame Thread - Bama vs. Michigan...

Look to the left of the line, there’s plenty of space to score.

receivers wide and blocking, Roydell swings wide and gets people looking that way, all he has to do is go left, plant his foot, and score.
Agreed, but the bad snap combined with Latham getting thrown back into him made it almost impossible to execute. Just a stupid call. It only works if it is perfectly executed and that o line was not even close to perfect tonight.

T
Which I don’t think is possible. He’s been in the system for 3 years, and his passing game still looks like a high school kid. He’s a great athlete, but BoB wasn’t wrong when he wanted him to play another position.
This. And i don't like bob

but apparently that wasn’t the play call, which was a designed QB run straight ahead from 5 yards away..

My biggest disappointment was after all the talk for a month, all the LANK nonsense, it amounted to nothing. I expect more from a Saban team with a month to prepare. They looked slow, confused and unprepared all night long, on both sides of the ball. It was like week 2 and 3 all over again.

I just expected more from this team. They talked the talked but forgot to walk the walk. The team that beat Ole Miss, Tenn, LSU and UGA would have beaten this UM team. But we got Texas and USF effort tonight.
Same story three years running…

You're exactly right. That was where the play design was supposed to go and instead he ducked his head and ran right into the back of the line.

When we started running #22 Haynes for 8-10 yards a clip, I said we have this in the bag. He is my guy; our best runner by dar. I cannot fathom why we got away from that.
Kind of like me wondering why meatchicken didn’t just line up on anything needed under 5 yards and run off center.

It’s not just that. It’s refusing to taking hits for 1st downs and misreading zone reads. He has a ways to go but there is legitimate hope.
He straight up avoided contact a couple of plays. That hurt the worst. He's our Tebow but Tim would never "slip". Ever.

Just now getting out of Pasadena. Couldn’t get out of our own way and couldn’t make the needed adjustments. Slipping rbs and tes outta the backfield killed us all game and this was Rees’s worst game as a coordinator. We ran that same play 5 or 6 times and it never ever once worked. Absolutely mind boggling to call that qb sneak there. Just bananas

In his post-game presser, CNS said that it was a design QB run, not an RPO. He said it didn't work because "we didn't get it blocked."

As I saw it, Latham was pushed back and they collided. Milroe lost his balance and went down. Proctor though... he had his man beat and walked into the end zone. If Milroe stays upright, he follows Proctor in, maybe. But he didn't, so he didn't, and that's that.
And it wasn't just Proctor, he had Roberts pulling to that side to clean up
